Winter has finally come to Florida. Only got to 40F today after a night below freezing. Low tonight expected to be about 25F. Nothing compared to what most of you guys are experiencing, but it's Winter weather to us 'crackers'.

One word. Cold. Days and days of single digits. No snow. Just COOOOOLD.

I have heard it often here and funny thing is Virginia is not really a southern state .They have what they call cracker houses also .

It's 36 and the snow is melting

wish it was melting here! High of 21f today! Had to go down to ponds last night as I saw on cameras that bog was freezing and could damage pump. Got it shut down and pump moved to main pond so it wont freeze. turned on 100 watt heaters but its supposed to be 60 by Wednesday.

Says it will be high 36 and low 18 here Wednesday...............back to the deep freeze at night.

Cold, but sunny here. Peeked under the pond cover, couldn't see the koi, but everything was working fine and the pond is completely free of ice

We made it home, no real issues until we got to North Carolina, around 40 - 50 miles of slow going, like 35 mph, to a dead stop, past a fed ex that spun out and lost its trailer, past around 15 cars that had just slid off the road, all ok, just stuck now. Not much snow. But that southern edge of NC had a lot of packed snow/ice covered I95. After we got past that area, all was dry and fast running. Not much snow anywhere along I95, just that one bad area of road.

Saturday was a beautiful driving day, empty roads, seems most people stayed home, some rain in Florida, other than that dry beautiful roads, we stopped just before entering NC.

Here we are 15 degrees right now heading to 8.

glad you made it home safe addy .We are supposed to get up to the mid to high 60's by the end of the week .JW you getting hit by iras storm .I saw coatings of ice up to 1 inch in some areas
