Great scene! You sure have that camera in a great spot. (y)
That is the ptz camera, we can move the view around the yard. I like it because we can zoom in to select the view we desire to see. That picture is fully zoomed out. My honey installed it on the sun room wall where we can cover around 190 degrees of the yard. Not real cheap, but well worth it to me.

Here are some of todays pictures...
I'm new here and am for the first time overwintering koi, I cared a lot less about the shubunkins over 20+ years...if you might be able to offer advice re: overwintering pumps and nets in my first posted thread here I would be ever grateful
If you are running pond all winter it helps to know what weather zone you are in.
All my pumps and filters are all underwater so they don't freeze up.

20 degrees and snow last week and today its 72! Well at least I got to remove the net and take all the leaves off of it. So many that it weighed the net down and has turned the water brackish :/
Looks better and hubby helped me tent the net so it can't do that again. Lol. My water is 40 degrees!! Won't take much to freeze it over now!

Colder here, in the twenties and thirties. We have a lighted snowman guarding the pond at night to keep raccoons away. I'm not sure how intimidating he is, but his security services come cheap! I can't run our motion detector sprinklers when it's this cold. So far so good - no sign of the masked bandits YET.

Last winter they visited when it was freezing, stealing a small koi off our shallow shelf and leaving tracks in the frost. The large plastic Frosty seems to be working because raccoons in our area are quite cautious, shying away from light. I've chased them away with a bright flashlight before. I just hope it warms up before they get bolder! It wouldn't concern me if all our fish went deep at night, but there's always a few that hang out on the shelves, leaving them vulnerable to predation.

Only 20f here right now and not a fish in sight. Some ice on the pond. They have all gone down under but yesterday in the afternoon they were playing in the falls. This morning no way.............maybe later on they'll come up.

At least we've got the sun and beautiful blue sky, @j.w. :) Your alligator has a frosty hairdo!
