What does your pond look like ... Today?

This morning at almost 9am the pond has more ice on it. See the white swirly stuff? That is the edge of the ice curving around under the shaded area...............brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

My pump is keeping a hole open. No aerator yet. I swear I'm ordering one soon lol

Although the temp was in the 20's all night the pond did not freeze. I'm sure it was because of good water current. The sunshine was so nice this morning I was scooping leaves in 26F.

Actually was refreshing. The cold is okay just so long as the wind is not blowing. Thousands of leafs yet to fall.

The ice is starting to overtake the water flow from my pump. not good news if I need to clean the prefilter out in a couple days. Wouldn't be an issue if we had normal weather, but it has been bitterly cold. Never expected ice this thick in November. Just have to wait for this weekend when we may see 40 degrees again.

The pond was frozen over this am, with a thin layer of ice, partly melted now. The pond breathers will be turned on today.

JB it looKS perfectly fine to me. I would raise the water level and then more ice will melt away. That is what I am doing to my bottom pond today.

the top ponds de ice quick cause the water level never drops below the level of the ice....

My pond lost almost all water yesterday due to the leaves that fell in the pond diverted the water away.

So I cleaned the leaves and had to fill the pond - the water from the tap was warmer than the pond but yesterday the weather was 65F and raining so it wasn't that bad. the fish loved the new water.

Then last night the temperature dropped to 25F (water not frozen, pumps still running) - the fish are hiding so hopefully they are ok with the large swing of the water temperature like that

I need to get water thermometer...

yes, you have to watch things like that, it can make a lot of water seep out over and out of the pond! Good thing you caught it on time!
