Thanks a lot, yea we never know...@Dimelius very nice looking pond w/all your pretty plants and I see it is well protected from the Heron or whatever else comes around![]()
How did you over winter the papyrus? I saw a mini one the other day, but am in zone 6, so it couldn't stay outside.I took these photos yesterday. My normally happy fishies have been hiding for days after a raccoon visit. I’m not sure yet how many were caught, but there was a lot of plant damage in the shallow parts and outer bank of my pond.
I replanted my bog this week and am excited to see the cannas, taro and papyrus that I nursed indoors over winter, spring back into life. Also, I scored three mini papyrus at Home Depot this week for $9.99 each!
I know that I need more surface coverage. Winter really went on and on here this year, so I feel a bit behind, but will get there. I have four Lillie’s, one is taking off strongly, water hyacinth, water lettuce and parrots feather on the surface.
I dug it up, planted it in a pot, kept in in full sun and very watered / wet. I kept it in a south facing window with tons of light. Next year I may even put a clear done over it like a terrarium type of idea. I got small shoot growth all winter long. It definitely didn’t grow in a robust way, but it survived. How did you over winter the papyrus? I saw a mini one the other day, but am in zone 6, so it couldn't stay outside.
It self seeds, I have a bunch of sprouts coming up in the pond and elsewhere. It is naturalizing, have it here and there.@addy1 I DONT THINK I HAVE EVER SEEN SUCH A ROYAL PURPLE AS THOSE IRIS . PHENOMENOL
