Yes I do like the white star grass. (Dicromena colorata) I enjoy landscape gardening and I like to use a lot of native plants from Florida in my gardening design. Some other native plants in the pictures are spiderwort (Tradescantia ohiensis), the low growing, spilling type plant is Browne’s Savory mint (clinipodium Brownei), the pink flower is Meadow Beauty.(Rhexia sp.) I also have pickerel weed, arrowhead, and one small cardinal plant that hasn’t grown much yet. There are a large number of rain lillies in the front of the pond. Of course I have a few non natives. The dwarf papyrus is a favorite of mine. There is also a number of small maidenhair ferns that grow on the waterfall. I think they are native to Georgia.

Just looked up the maidenhair fern and it is also native to Florida. It is called Southern Maidenhair fern. (Adiantum capillus-veneris.) works great wedged in a waterfall with a handful of soil. It needs constant moisture. Grows very well for me here in central Florida.

This pond is about 14 years old and located in Nakhon Ratchasima (AKA Korat) in Northeast Thailand. It originally had an HDPE liner, but is now ferrocement. Construction photos here: Pond Construction

Fountain and stream. The stream is over a foot deep and full of gravel and sand. It keeps the pond crystal clear.

A couple weeks ago, we made a trip to the hatchery about a hour away.
I bought another 150 hybrid bluegills, 2 gallons of fathead minnows for
the perch in the pond, 2 gallons of aqua shade pond dye.

The dye gives the pond a pleasing color, but more importantly, reduced light penetration of
the wave length that promotes weed and algae growth. The dye reduces the
growth and the 2 gallons I bought should last me through the end of 2023.

Lastly were the 8 bags (44 lbs ea) of 3/16" Ziegler floating fish food pellets.
I feed them from May through the end of Oct. Hopefully the 8 bags will get
me through the end of season this year.

This pic is from 2 weeks ago right after I added about a half gallon of Aqua Shade.
