@addy1 what would your bees do w/o your ponds? Any other sources of water nearby? They are lucky ducky bees!
They would need to fly to the river or if it rains a puddle. So instead of a 30 foot flight it would be about 1/2 mile maybe more. Or if someone has a swimming pool, a pond around us they would go there. Then the pool owners would be upset with a ton of bees coming to drink.

Pond was topped off, then rain added to the fullness. Fish love having it at this level because they can get to & munch on rocks that aren't as accessible to them when it's down an inch or two. I think some of these guys are just channeling their 'inner spawning salmon'.

Incredible! Isn't it amazing that such a beautiful scene is in your own backyard—and due, in part, to your own work and design and creativity? The sun retains credit for illuminating everything in such a glow, but your work primed the canvas . . .

Just stunning. Thank you for sharing.

Three Perry’s Baby Reds (?) opened this morning. The singleton has a Cyperus haspan, one of my favorite marginals, by side. The twins have a tropical waterlily for a roommate, hence the big serrated leaves

My third pond had three Chromatellas and one Hermine flowering

But when I crouched down to take a picture from different perspective, I found out there is actually one more Hermine in full bloom

So eight water lilies blooming in 105 gallons of pond water total... Not bad...

My pond is doing its own remake of 'the good, the bad and the ugly'. Good news is, the canna on the island is starting to bloom heavily & after regretting my decision to not buy water hyacinth this year, we took a field trip to a relatively close pond supplier to buy some this past weekend, & our purchases are looking wonderful. The bad & ugly news? If these silly frogs don't stop their spawning, I'll never get rid of the foamy mess that is the surface of my pond every morning lately!!

No fertilizer since the fall and the lilies are going flower crazy this summer.

I had tossed a tuber into one of my small loop ponds, no clue on color. It turned out to be a real nice creamy white, yellow large flower. The plant could use some more room to grow, you can see the leaves sticking out of the water.

This is one of the stream ponds, shallow with a lily and other plants, almost black in color. Again leaves sticking out of the water due to needing more space, but they all look great.

Mr frog was watching me work.

It’s 4:30 pm here now, all Hermines and Reds already closed for the day, but my beautiful Chromatella still in full bloom.

Well done sugar . the prolonged warm spring i think gave a lot of ponds issues with disease but this everyday HAZY HOT HUMID CRAP is beyond good for the water plants
