Thanks! That particular fish is also lazy! When I'm tossing in food, he swims over & opens his mouth like he wants me to toss the kibble straight in (like some crazy pond version of 'Bozo Buckets'! lol) rather than have to actually swim around & eat it himself.@BKHpondcritters Beautiful lilies and piggy fish
Guilty as charged.@BKHpondcritters and you prolly enable him
Thank you, @TheFishGuy. Installation was a group effort of friends in 2013.amazing selection of fish! looks like an insanely healthy well balanced pond! did you install it yourself, or get it installed?
Almost didn't see the mapleThank you, @TheFishGuy. Installation was a group effort of friends in 2013. View attachment 132000
This is a March photo during the build. If you look closely, you’ll see the Japanese maple we built the pond around.
Quite different from 2020, eh?

Well that explains why I can’t get close to my bird bath...there are always swarms of bees on it...I add water with the hose but from a distance. 98 degrees here and still rising. Brutal! The bees are inhaling water , when it is this hot they use it to help cool the hive, like a evaporation cooler. Also use the water to process honey and to feed the brood.
I work right next to them in the pond, they won't bother you. Just stay out of their flight path, to and from the hive and water. I am adding water and pulling some of the excess plant growth.Well that explains why I can’t get close to my bird bath...there are always swarms of bees on it...I add water with the hose but from a distance. 98 degrees here and still rising.
