The pond is beautiful, but what really strikes me about this photo is how the blue in the pool and the blue sky and the blue umbrellas all echo and reinforce each other. What a scene! Is that a body of water (river or lake) in the background?
I agree. That setting is so tranquil. I think it's a waterway or lake behind the pool. My wife always wanted a pool but Michigan is not the best state for one!
Also, thank you for the compliments on my pond.

Really stunning landscape shot. Looks like milkweed in the foreground. I bet you get all sorts of interesting butterflies. Just beautiful.

Absolutely! I see all sorts of butterflies throughout the summer. Just about getting to the time of year where butterfly activity will increase. Once the Purple Coneflowers start blooming in my native garden, activity will really pick up.

The water is Chipmans Pond. It is a 52 acre state owned and maintained pond. We live near the end and it is VERY quiet!

So today the water is very clear and ammonia is zero on the master kit! That's eleven of our twelve. The 12th is black so maybe he's there too. They're gathered to eat our homemade food.

Well we took apart the waterfall because it was losing water. We did the plumbing test on the bog filter last night, so more gravel is going in it today. And meanwhile the water looks like liquid mud!

But soon....
