I made some rearrangements in the pond today. Moved my main bog bean across the pond and took out one of my sedges. I noticed last year that I wasn't really enjoying the pond as much with bog bean up front, because all the fish were hidden and usually chose to swim elsewhere. I intended on moving it in spring, but never got around to it. So, I moved to today and opened up the "front" of the pond a bit. I did put a small clump of bog bean up front as well as Arrowhead. I've already noticed the fish swimming over more often.

Looks good. I need to climb into the pond & rein in my bog bean. It's getting a bit carried away with its own sense of importance.

I need to take care of my waterlilies. I may have waited way too long to re-pot. It's gonna be interesting trying to deal with that mess! I'll probably wait until next spring, which seems like a bad idea.

I will be repotting some this fall, they are starting to float, i.e. too many tubers in the pot, live and dead.

Maybe do some this Fall, and the rest in the Spring. That way the chore doesn't seem so daunting?

lol I do mine all at once, pull, cut, new fertilizer, clay, toss in pond done. Then no need to do again in the spring. Spring is pretty darn busy.

It's a toss up here. Spring & Fall are both pretty busy, and every year's a little bit different from the one before. A lot depends on what other "projects" we have going on in the yard & garden.

Spring is when we get real busy with the bees, fall is calmer.
