When I net the bottom of the pond, fall or spring, I pull a lot of it up, sort it out, toss it back in. I do not trim it, do not cut, basically do nothing to it. It lays there does whatever it feels like doing and regrows.

The stream pond looked like a dead mess once the ice cube melted, within a few days you could see new growth starting up. I was going to pull some of it out, but then waited it out, it all grew and grew great.

You can see how gross the pond looked before it started growing. All looked dead or rotted, some growth to the right side of the picture. This is a shallow fishless pond that does freeze up solid.

Well, I guess I keep over-thinking it. Ha!
Thanks.

and I found something in my bog today. Looks like one of the two male toads has had success. I haven't seen eggs yet, not sure when I will.

My Sweet Woodruff is blooming. The plants themselves look like they're dying. I'm not sure what's going to happen to them. They're actually a shade plant and I've had them in full sun for 3 years. They might not be able to handle it this year.

My tiny lily has sent buds to the surface twice now. Both times during the early part of the week which means it opens after I leave for work, closes before I get home, and sinks before the weekend. I had to get my daughter to go outside and send me a picture since I had no idea what color it was... I think it's gorgeous! And uh, yes that is the pot sitting on the bottom that you can see.. Water is clearing!! Woop Woop!

Sissy Has a Heart!!! :)

Everything falling in pond from trees again today. Sick of tree litter! Going to do more chopping!!

My net is broken and I lost it somewhere around here. Got to get new net today on my list of things to do on my only day off.

Irises are blooming on south side and things are greening up nicely.
