I've managed to find a way to make myself spend even more time out by my pond than I already do!

The pond tonight.

The bog tonight. Ignore the ugly plastic I was using to protect a plant. Also, If you look closely, you might find the small bullfrog.

and here's the toad that's been doing the mating call. I think he likes my new Creeping Jenny.

It has already, we are just not completely in the safe zone yet. June- September are usually decent.

It really does happen. I got as close to this frog sitting on a lily pad before he took off. So adorable.
I also included a picture of my bog from yesterday, it's chock-full of green goodness.

Here's my three new plants.
Marsh Marigold. It does better in shade and dies back in summer. I don't have much shade but I wanted to see what'll happen.

Oh I like it all but the marsh marigold is really pretty.

I had the marsh marigold it just disappeared. I think we have to much sun here.

A purple Iris of some sort flowered today.

and the Sweet Woodruff is filling in, and beginning to flower, too. Can't even tell the log had a hole in it anymore.

I've now got two American Toads making calls. A little nervous about what the neighbors will think/do. We've got good neighbors and not so good neighbors. Go figure the pond is closer to the not so good neighbors.

As far as nature in action, its pretty cool. This is the first year I've had it happen.

It does really good, and I have it in full sun every year, and it's actually a shade plant.
