Was out watching the tadpoles today when I spotted this cheeky newt pop up right next to some tadpoles. A couple of seconds later and the pond was minus one tadpole:

Each day the water gets clearer as the tadpoles do their bit and eat up the algae:

The water mint is growing well:

The tadpoles are still abundant:

A view across the pond:

The view from down the garden. I like this view because the pond isn't immediately obvious and blends into it's surroundings:

Wish I could've gotten a photo of it, my bog had three Robins, two Doves, a handful of Sparrows, and a Goldfinch. They were all crowded in enjoying the water. I don't think I've ever seen Doves in the bog before.

The doves in our backyard just love the bog. I make sure there is always a bathing hole for the birds.

Here's a video from today. As you can see there was a lot of pollen floating around today. It felt like a perfect summer day today. Temps hit 80° for the first time this year with a little humidity. I expect that'll help out some of the plants.

I hear a toad making its mating call in my bog right now. That's a first! Pretty cool, but hopefully it doesn't get too loud or I'll have to relocate it. One is ok, but groups can get loud, and I could see one of my neighbors complaining over it.

Trying to use all the old boards from the deck up that are still decent and will stain them dark brown with a solid color stain
