It's gorgeous! I love the striations of color through it. Well worth the 1/2 mile haul.

Definitely worth it! Its a pine woods so all I ever see back there are straight logs and branches. Had to take it when I saw it!

I would have done the same JB. My body would have been yelling at me the next day but it would be well worth it for that nice piece!

The pond.

So after trying a few things out with the log I hauled back, I realized the shape/size just didn't look right by the pond, but looks great in my fern corner. Once the ferns grow and fill in, it'll look nice!

Lilies growing along the edge of the pond.
Blue Flag Iris continuing to grow in the bog.
Golden Queen Globeflower still growing after transplanting to bog
Sweet Woodruff along the outside of the bog. Love the stuff but every Spring I have pull a bunch out because it spreads.It should look pretty cool when it pops up through this rotted log.
First sign of flower growth today: Grape Hyacinth
...and here's the whole pond area

Wet and extremely windy here today so I'm confined to the house but the pond looks good from the bedroom window:
