To discourage ducks from landing, pooping and mating here, I set up a temporary crude scarecrow this morning. It's a broom-headed scareduck. It may not work but it's worth a laugh, anyway!

You should do a showcase of your pond, it's a beauty

We are probably a week out if not longer before the ice goes away. 8-10 inches deep, with 8 or so inches of snow on it. This is how it looks right now

Here's my pond tonight. Looks like almost 3" of snow melt today. Looks identical to my last photo because of the 3" of snow that fell in between then and now. Over the next week we may start to see the ground again. Hopefully, if we do, no more snow will cover it! (yeah right!)

We are now in 60 and 70 degree weather here with lots of pretty sun and today will be work on the pond day .I will have to mow the back yard again since I have chihuahuas the grass gets to high and they run and flip over from the taller grass .Funny to watch but not funny to them .:)

The deer seen has been hanging around a lot, it was bedding down right along side the pond. The poor thing is missing part of one of its hind legs. I watched it slowly limp away into the woods.

oh that is sad Addy, was it the bottom half of his leg? Cars sometimes do that and we had a deer like that one year. Poor Deer!
Well on the positive side, if he succumbs to his injury, the body will be used to feed some hungry poor cold critter out there ....
