Wrap in newspaper and wet it down, Then place in a plastic bag and ship in a box with dry newspaper. This will keep it from drying out and from getting all beat up. I have found that if you take it and package them up in the afternoon and get them to the post office about a hour before they close they start on there way when the temp is coller and they don't sit in the hot loading dock all day.
BTW, that was me that tolld you what you had in the pond. LOL:alieneyesa:

Here are the Water Primrose from my farm pond. They have this pretty little yellow flower, and are just floating on the water, roots hanging down. When I "raked" some out of the pond, I did not notice that they were attached to the dirt below, so assume they are hardy just floating, but will find out next spring.

If you go to this site http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260805991823&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT
you will see the pennywort that a person has for sale on Ebay. Sorry, I probably should not be posting from a sale site, but this person describes it really well, tells the zones, and how it grows. I'll likely buy some from this person, if I don't get any offers of a trade. LOL

Again, I'm up for sending Water Primrose to anyone who would like some, just pay for my shipping. Thanks much for the mailing info, Fishin, great pointers!

Addy, I would love to do a trade for some of your pennywart! I have tons of the water primrose, so just let me know how much you want me to send. I could literally fill a 55 gal drum and not notice any missing from my pond. Going to gather some for another ponder who is coming this afternoon to get some. I'll gather yours in the morning, though, so it is "fresher" before mailing it. Fishin had good ideas for how to pack it, so I'll do it that way. I would love a few starts of the pennywart, too. And, is it hardy, do I have to do anything to it? I've looked at too many types of plants lately, will look again on-line and see what that person said about it on Ebay.
Thanks!!!

I read on the net that there are several different varieties of Water Primrose and can't really figure out which kind I have. Yours looks different then mine Country. Mine gets fairly tall. Here is what mine looks like:

If you have any more of yours left I will pay for postage for some.

OK, ladies, like I said I could supply EVERYONE some of the Ludwigia (I think that's the scientific name) as my pond is about 1 acre and it's probably 50% covered with this stuff! I will send you my address, Addy, and both of you a private message, so we can exchange addresses. Woohoo, I'm excited, too, to get some different stuff. JW, if you have an extra plant of yours, I'd love to try some of that, too. If you don't have much, that's fine. Maybe more trouble to ship. :) I'm thrilled to share mine!

OK, Addy sent me a message I replied to her, but for some reason I'm too simple to figure out how to send a message to you, J.W. !!! I don't know how to "find" you to send you a message! I've got it all ready to go, but it said "not found". So .... as soon as you send me a message, I'll get my address to you! Thanks!!!
