actually correct that the rock is the clothespin that holds the wire and the light just hangs around like the clothes

I love your idea, Sissy, that way the lights are actually on the side walls. If the fish leave them alone (and since they weighted, I would think they would not be able to move them much), then that is more what I want, light on the side shining toward the other side, not toward the top. Liked the way you compared it to clothespins and clothes on a line, too. :)

OK, I just had to show you the area between my pond and deck. It's only about 2' wide from the ledge to the deck, but I left it so I could move around on that side to mess with the lines, etc. Well, I found lots of annuals and a few perennials on sale for clearance, and decided to put them there to spruce it up, since it was just dirt. Then, I had some smaller pieces of flat stones that I used to put in between the plants to help keep the weeds out, since I can't use mulch as it would blow into the water. I think it turned out really pretty! I know the annuals won't last, but the perennials will, and next year I can add more. I also have a couple very tall bright solid yellow lillies that I will plant on each end, since the deck railing is highest at the ends. :)
Oh, and the last picture is of some rocks from Copper Globe Mine in Utah, where my daughter lives. We rode horses back in the mountain to the old mine, and there are stones with copper in them, thus the blue spots. I can't put them where the water will wash over them, so decided this was a nice place, right below where I stand to look at the fish every day. :)

Wow thats some nice looking rock and your pond looks good .Lucky you to find some neat rocks ,I bet if you had to buy them they would cost a small fortune .It was the only way I could think to describe how the lights just hang there .My fish don't even bother with them .And with aggie the way she is thats a miracle

Wow, Sissy, I'll watch my local Wal-Mart, but not even sure they have pond stuff. Will have to look further, maybe it's somewhere I have not noticed before. Menards has pond stuff, I looked at their lights, but they were 2 in a set for almost $40 and another set that had maybe 4 lights for less????? Didn't make sense to me, but maybe the more expensive were brighter? I'll also check on Ebay this time of year might find a good deal there, too. Thanks, JW and Sissy for the compliments! I love color, even if it's only for a few months. :)

No the lights I'm talking about go outside the pond ,around the edge and have a stake to push into the ground and I turn the spot light to the pond water so it shines down on the water .The lights I have inside the pond I got on e-bay and are jebio or something like that 30 dollars for 4 of them and they had free shipping

Yep, Sissy, I read your post too fast. I know what you mean now. Are they electric I assume, not solar, right? That would be nice to have the pond area lit up from the outside as well. My solar LED flood lights are lit up tonight. Wonder if the bullfrog is there ready to catch bugs?

The only reason I don't like solar is that the batteries do not stay charged long enough .Especially in the winter and the batteries are not cheap and then you have to remember to take them to be recycled .I have these and on the box the leds only cost 8 dollars a year to run

I totally agree with you, Sissy. Right now I only have one working plug-in outside, and it has 2 pumps and the UV light hooked up to it! I know, I know, overload, but I had no choice. I asked an electrician to add a quad 4-way plug in box on each of the front corners of my deck, but I keep forgetting to call him back and remind him. It's been well over a month now. I would do it myself, but I'm terrified of being shocked or, worse, electricuted!

Oh now that would be worse, your own son not getting your jobs done. LOL But, they would probably be far worse than hiring it done! Unless of course Mom cooks him his favorite home made dinner when he comes to do jobs for her. :)

I can't remember who mentioned the plants in my farm pond they thought were ludwigia, they are right! They are also called Water Primrose, and I found them on Ebay. I have TONS of it on my farm pond, and would be happy to share with anyone who would like some. I only ask that you pay for the shipping. And, if anyone has suggestions on how to ship plants, I'd love to be enlightened! I would assume in a plastic bag, inside a Priority Mail cardboard envelope?
