Got both of your PM's! Woohoo, the trading begins. I will see what all I have to share, maybe I will come up with some other things, since JW offered some other type of plants, too. :) Yes, Addy, I agree, way more fun to trade and share than go out and buy it! And, since we are all swapping, I don't need any money, we just swap the postage, too. I guess you two probably figured that out, though. :)

Yeh if you wait until end of season I got mine last year at walmart with the bigger holes they make great insulation for exposed hosing for ponds .You just slice them and wrap them around your hose .

Oh! I just hate it when I don't think of something first, Sissy !!! Great idea! Are those the gray insulation things used around AC units?

Guess who showed up this evening, and posed for pics? I have at least 5 frogs now, probably far more! Couple of them were doing the "love dance" in the parrots feather. :) Can anyone tell me a type of frog these are, or shall I just call them "peepers"? :) Two that I photographed have the green down their back, although I have many that are simply brown, probably females?
And, I know that the waterfall is falling from far too high, but I wanted it running for now. It will be dug into the waterfall hill eventually. It works super! Much more room in new filter box for filter media as well.
The pond plants are from my farm pond, and likely NOT something I want to introduce to my koi/goldfish pond after all, but wondering if anyone has any idea what they might be, and if they bloom. I will look on a link I was given as well, just not gotten to that point yet.
And, great news to pass on! I put 7 goldfish in last night. Two that were about 4-5" long that friend had in his aquarium and wanted to get rid of, and 5 from Petsmart. 3 of the ones from Petsmart were maybe 1.5" and 2 were closer to 3". I think I saw ALL of them tonight! I'm so very excited! My water is still very murky, but they were swimming around the edge, even found the food I put in for them. :) So far, so good! Let's see if they make it past the next couple of weeks, my goal.
OK, because of trying to identify a HUGE soft shelled turtle today, Fishin directed me to a great website, and found out these frogs with the pretty green pattern are called Northern Cricket Frogs! They even have a picture on the website that looks almost identical to the one I photographed. :) Thanks once again, Fishin! I'm going to try to identify the medium sized frog now, too!

I wish I could find a local identification list as nice as that one for our area. I lucked up on that one and I commented as well how easy it was to use.

The foam insulation is sold in a pack of 4 usually and works great to insulate any hoses and are cheap to buy and you can get the wider pool noodles also to insulate hoses

I thought the picture would follow through with the "quote", but it didn't. Here's the picture of the frog in my pond, which is almost identical to the picture of the Northern Cricket Frog on the IL Herpetology Species List website! :)

Fishin, yes they are loud little guys. I've been calling them spring peepers, which I now have learned are mostly brown. I had no idea these were a type of frog, thought the more colorful were males. :) They are less than 1.5" long. Still not positive what the medium sized frog is. See him/her all the time, so not growing into bullfrog, and doesn't seem to have enough spots to be a leopard frog. Just brown pretty much. :) But, they all get to stay, as I love frogs!!!

Yes, Sissy, we also got some much needed rain yesterday, and a bit of relief from the high 90's heat wave! Could have used more rain, but I'm not complaining. Frogs loved it. My pond is so clear this morning, I am searching for my large pleco I put in earlier this year, thinking he could remain all winter, but then told he needs to come inside. Not sure how I'll locate him, as he is black, but will do it somehow! I have a baby albino I just bought so hopefully next year he will be large enough to go into the pond and I'll be able to locate him for capture before it gets too cold. :)
I didn't think of it before the pond, but most of my outside decorations have frogs on them! No wonder I enjoy the frogs almost as much as the koi and goldfish! :)

I was out pulling that darn spurge, hate that stuff, and other weeds, soaking wet also. Done for now, too hot for me again...........

The hyacinths and snow flake lilies love this heat and humidity, they are blooming beautifully.
