Seems like lots of us are heading out for a bit of a vacation here lately. Hope you all have a nice time and safe travel.
We are going on our first trip to Hawaii in Oct. w/ relatives. Going to Waikiki area cuz hubby's sis has a resort condo there. Guess there are lots of things to see and do there, hoping anyways. If we had our choice we'd go somewhere more secluded but for now this will be fine. If anyone has any suggestions on what to see there please feel free to chime in!

JW go to the North shore and do some surfing, this is one of the best places to surf. You have to go see Pearl Harbor and take a tour of the Battleship USS Missouri that is there as well as the USS Arizona memorial, USS Bowfin is a sub. Then go see Diamond Head this was a neat visit but beware there are lots of steps, but worth the view once you get there. There were also some very neat botanical gardens I think that were on Oahu. If I think of anything else I will let you know.

Thanks tmann and I think I would like to watch the surfing but not going to actually do it. Want to keep myself alive and well........bones, lungs etc. lol! Love watching it tho.......could watch for hours. Hubby will drag me away tho! We will definitely want to see Pearl Harbor and the ships. Our hotel is right near Diamond Head and the zoo I believe. Botanical gardens sounds neat. Wonder if there are any ponds to see?

We went to Oahu 15 years ago. We took one of those day long tours and enjoyed it very much. It included Pear Harbor, shopping, stuff I don't really remember and an evening Luau at the end. The only thing I didn't like about the trip was the fact that the hotel we stayed at on the beach didn't have chairs to sit on the beach. We had to rent them for $15 each per day!

Thanks baeya and koiguy.
Gosh I'm not renting any chairs to sit on. I'll grab one of their towels and call it good. We have a buy on get one ticket for a Luau that I got off the net.
Koiguy would love to see the koi pond and sample some pineapple while I'm at it.

I was in hawaii in 82 the one and only time. Took the helicopter ride over maui, beautiful.... drove the jeep around the island (not maui) to the black sand beaches found out we weren't supposed to be there being non native. We went to oahu and kuai (some gals and I)

We head out in october too, parent check in florida, then a short cruise.

creeeeeepy!!!!!
This is very well done.

Poke and prod the spider with your mouse, also 'grab' one of its legs with your mouse and drag it around the screen -- tell me it's not alive!

Also anywhere on the floor double tap the space bar and it leaves little bugs for the spider to eat. Watch the spider go after the bugs and eat them. This is crazy and creepy too!

for those who are unaware...if you make a post and have after thoughts you want to add...you can "click" the edit button (bottom right corner , left of and next to the multiquote) and add them to your current posting instead of adding additional posts that arent neccessary.
