Way to go Fishy love! You will get the hang of it fast now! :)

The older lady they hired in bakery is real good considering her age! She smiles so nice and is just a pleasure to work with, she is so very polite.... need to be more like her I think....
I joked with her that we have to hire people out of retirement to get good workers these days! We had a good laugh!

OK, all you dog lovers out there. My dogs all scratch, itch, etc. It drives me crazy! I see absolutely no fleas, I've looked and looked closely and closer than that! Now the puppy is scratching. Again, see no fleas. I know it can be a skin irritation of some sort, obviously contagious and they all have it. Anyone know of anything to help relieve the rash or irritation? I know if I take them to the vet, they will give me some pill to give them for a while, and it will probably work for a while, and then back to itching again. Wondering if benedryl might help relieve the irritation long enough to make it go away?

No hair loss on any of them. I was sure it was fleas, but they have all been treated 3 times now with the flea/worm pills, and I see no fleas. They are getting all natural dog food, have been for over a month, maybe 2 months now. I realize ANY food can have allergic reactions, though. But, all of them the same thing? It's just frustrating! At least they are not scratching their ears constantly anymore. My Boston female has very short hair, so it does seem like her skin is a little pink, but not red like a bad rash. Beagle has thicker hair, but can see his belly, no rash. Yukon has longer hair but when I look at belly and behind front legs (where they all seem to scratch the most, although top of back is also target area), I see no rash on him either. I have looked and looked, sure it is fleas, or maybe the dander from the fleas. Maybe I need to give them all a bath! Wonder what would be best stuff to bathe them in, to keep from further irritating their skin? Thanks Mrs. Clem for suggestions! :blueflower:

I have a medicated stop itch shampoo and I gave Bear a shampoo cause he was thumping the floor scratching so hard. I see Poppy to has picked up the scratching too. The Medicated stop itch shampoo does work for a few days, then they need one to two more baths to get all the itch away sometimes. I think it is mites, as they are so small you don't see them, and a good shampoo never hurts this time if the year. Fall can be a bad time for mites, especially if its been hot and dry!

I also had mites really bad one time too, as a child when I was climbing a big pine tree every day fun. Then I got the mites so bad and my mom did not know what was bothing me. I went to the doctor and told him I was really itchy, they looked at my back and legs close up with a good magnifying glass and told me to bath good and use lots of soap and clean the bedding good too. Now I do that for the puppies to cause they run in the tall dried brush and pick up mite too. :)

I will have to look for that type of shampoo next time at store. It's very possible they have some other type of mite, but I would think that the flea stuff would maybe get rid of mites, too? Probably not, maybe more of a specialty medicine. The fact the pup is scratching leads me to believe sleeping in his Mama's crate with her has gotten him into whatever it is she has. I wash their bedding pretty often, at least once a week. Will wash it more often when I get shampoo. Other 2 dogs don't lay on the dog beds in the crates, though. Washing the afghan they sometimes lay on, otherwise it's the carpet in the LR.

Sissy, the air has been really humid the last couple of weeks, so don't think it's dry skin, but maybe it is. Maybe weather has nothing to do with it. It just bothers me that they all seems to be scratching. Not nearly as bad as before I started them on the pills to kill the fleas. Thinking I will get one of the pills for the puppy before he leaves. He can have one, as he is over 8 weeks old. The size I have for him, though, is different, just for fleas not worms, and it's 14 weeks and older. I'm really wondering if it is some bug that is teeny tiny, smaller than fleas, like you said, Colleen. I sit at my computer, and I SWEAR there is a bug climbing on my neck! I've had this feeling many times in the evening.

CE, what exactly are you feeding them? (this can be a sensitive issue for people)
We used to feed our dogs raw food, but that came with a few problems. Now we have them on Blue Buffalo. It's working out great for them.

Capewind is a breeder, I think... maybe she will chime in.

Ha ha ha, CE I sometimes feel like something cawling on me too! Mites are very common problem this time of the year, and if the other pups are getting it too them it could be bugs, Lots of little bugs that you cannot see, like the tiny mites or thrips that eat everybody's petunias and leave people wondering what happened! Ha ha ha, its OK, we all get bugged every spring and fall here... :)
