OMG, Fishy, he's really pretty, and how did I miss him? I had to go back and look, too, and sure enough he was there, my blind eyes just missed him.
Mitch, the dogs are being fed Nutro Max Lamb and Rice, first ingredient is lamb meal, and the puppy is eating Nutro Max Puppy Chicken and Rice, again first ingredient is chicken meal. The lamb is supposed to be less an issue if dogs have allergies. But, with all of them scratching, I would guess it's something besides the food. Wondering if they are all allergic to the same thing? They have been scratching all summer, although it IS much better since I put them on the flea pills.

Just a suggestion, but I would try changing the food first.
I had our dogs on lamb and rice kibble and it made one sick. For an unknown itch it could be the common rice.
You've got short haired dogs so the mess wouldn't be a problem. Have you ever considered raw?
I raised our dogs on raw, but because of the high calcium it made their poops quite hard. Most other dogs do fine on raw from what I've heard.
Raw chicken actually made one of the dogs's chin itch, though. She would scratch it on the kitchen counter, lol.
Beef, buffalo or elk all worked well, other than the hard poops.
Their long hair also clumped around their mouths so raw wound up not working so well for them.
If you do try raw, and the itch goes away, you'll at least know it was the food. Then you could look for a different dry kibble if the work involving raw isn't your thing.
I found changing the dogs diet with raw didn't need any conditioning over time. Raw was pretty easy on their system.
Just don't feed raw and kibble at the same mealtime.

CE my friend has a dog that has to eat high protein dog food. He has very itchy skin and anything that doesn't have meat as the first ingredient sets him off itching again. He is also VERY allergic to flea bites. Anything with chicken MEAL or lamb MEAL is a by product of the meat that they use. She started using ProPac and the itching is better for him. Here is a web sight, my vet gave me to read, about "meat by product meal", which is what chicken meal and beef meal etc etc is. Its not necessarily a bad thing if you know where the Origin of the meat is from. http://www.dogfoodadvisor.com/choosing-dog-food/animal-by-products/
Some of its pretty gross if you think about it :(

Yep, I wondered about the "meal" part of the ingredients. One of the bags has the actual meat first, THEN the meat "meal", then rice or whatever. I've had them on other dry dog foods, usually Purina, for all their lives, and the itch has always been there. I guess I figured it was always fleas, but now I'm about 95% sure the fleas are totally gone. Puppies got a good clean bill of health from vet, and I told them to specifically check them for fleas. So, if Denali had fleas, the puppies would have, too, although I kept their area sprayed around the perimeter to keep the fleas out, and I guess that worked, too. So, now that the fleas are gone, I expected them to quit scratching, and they have not. So .... it's either some allergy they all have to the same thing (which doesn't make sense to me) or it's just that they are so used to scratching, they are continuing to do so. I know my Golden Retrievers always scratched their ears. I asked and asked, and was told dogs don't get ear mites, only cats, and that dogs get ear infections (yeast infections, etc.) instead, and it's VERY hard to get rid of once they get it. The stuff they gave me I had to put in their ears twice or 3X a day for something like 3 weeks! Well, that didn't get done properly, so probably made it worse. I finally gave up and just cleaned their ears weekly with peroxide. The one mama golden would keep the younger female's ears VERY clean. That was so cute, the younger one would lay in mama's paws, Sophie would lick that ear clean, then Cammie would turn over and she would do that ear. Bet it felt good to Cammie. After Sophie was gone, I realized how much she helped Cammie with her ears!

Don't read this if you haven't watched the last episode of Breaking Bad yet!
I don't want to spoil it for you :blueflower:

Many fans this last weekend were thrown into mourning with the finale of Vince Gilligan's Breaking Bad. Spoilers are imminent, so if you haven't seen the ending yet, look away.
Some fans have been thoroughly traumatized by the end of the series and Walt's death. So much so that one science teacher and members of the "Unofficial Breaking Bad Fan Tour"

Facebook page placed an obituary for the fictional character!

You know what's funny, the one and only show I watched of that, was where that guy his wife and his brother I law and his wife ( I didn't catch if she was his sister or his wife's sister) they were at a restaurant and the brother in law was trying to get him to confess to the drug thing. Last thing I saw was he made a video, saying his brother in law was behind it all and such. What happened to the brother in law?

Friday evening we went to a three quarters posh artist reception. I wore my very best black short pants, raven purple polo, white tennies with ankle height black shocks. My fine lady wife Cathy looked her gorgeous self. Btw, with a chuckle she told me she loved my attire. We made a stunning arm in arm couple. Oh, the most posh (and richest) lady there had the most horrendous breath. When speaking to her I had to step back just to keep from having a sickly look on my face. I don't get out often but when I do I am not easily forgotten. Being somewhat esscentric is a life affirming trait. :)

As arrogant as it most probably is I close with.....
