Our hip hop DJ son and his singer are flying to Atlanta for a music video shoot then festival performance. From Atlanta they are off to Virginia for another gig. They are signed with "Mad Dog Records". What a name! Btw, their songs are clean.

I feel so old. Back in the day when I was loving Led Zepplin and such the old folks hated it. Now the tables have turned. I actually can't stand hip hop. When he becomes rich and famous I want to be one of his "yes" men. LOL! :)

Lou, Menards and our local Sherwin Williams store (we have a huge warehouse here in Effingham, too, of SW ...) you can take in a piece of the siding and they will computer match it with paint. I did that when I had my big barn sided and new roof. Took a piece of the colors (white and maroon) to the store, they perfectly matched it with the paint I used on other barn and the part of big barn I was not replacing, but wanted to perfectly match. You would not know that part was painted, part is new. We shall see how the paint holds up as far as fading and weather, compared to new. I suspect the new stuff will hold up much longer, but so far, a year later, they still look great. Good luck on your new renovations. Sounds like they are in full swing, and I'm anxious to see pics!

Hope it turns out just the way you wanted it Lou and they are moving right along in getting it done for you. Hope you will post some pix of the finished project.

What a fun time in life for your son and hope he makes it big and prospers from his musical talents and hope he remembers dad when doing job interviews

Photos of our new siding and back windows. The siding is James Hardie ColorPlus (prefinished) Colonial Roughsawn lap siding in Light Mist (light gray), trim is Arctic White. The new Energy Core Low E3, triple pane, double sliding windows are above the garage. For those of you in our area the contractor is Legacy Exteriors, LLC, Arlington, TX. Highly recommend both the products and contractor. Found Legacy on Angie's List.

Within the next month the all soffit, fascia gutters plus the garage will be painted Arctic White. In 2014 the house side deck will be refurbished with new paint and such. If you happen to notice dark spots on the side of house soffit those are the "fingers" from vines that I foolishly allowed to grow. Never make that mistake yourself.

First photo is a "before" of the rear wall. What a change!

Spray those little fingers with peroxide it will disolve them .I had them on my other house and just used a pump sprayer .Vinegar does it also but can smell for days .You will just need to protect plants .Bleach and water and dish soap works faster but can hurt plants more .

Thanks Sissy but we can't use anything that may damage the new siding. Sure wish I had found your solutions much earlier. Since the fingers are only on the north and less seen side the painter will remove as much as he can by hand then paint over them. Thanks again.

Lou, why would you leave anything and paint over it, if you don't want it? Can't you cut it off at the ground level, spray the stub with Roundup or something similar to kill it, and then get rid of any growth on your house? It must be something that is VERY difficult to remove!
The new siding and windows look fantastic! Love the colors and that the windows kind of stick out from the siding. I like that look.
Fishy, like your new fishy ... I figured he was a circus performer, know how to swim upstream and downstream, and you were demonstrating. :blueflower: Did you take them with your camera sideways? If so, they upload that way. You can "flip" them to straighten them out before you upload them from your camera, at least mine does that. Or, you can flip them AFTER you upload them, too.

58 hours to STRIKE!!

Store appeared to be very slow for a Thursday, and only 10 days to our THANKSGIVIVG!
There appeared to be very few workers.... lots have quit or called in sick...
The store shelves where poorly stocked, and there were holes (empty shelves) everywhere!
Over 100 people requested to move their prescription medication to other stores....
Many people come to tell me they are sorry to hear that we are going on strike and support us completely.
Many departments very behind ....
They hired a very elderly lady in the Bakery, she looks to be about 75 or 80 years old!!
