Taken care of, they had to make several trips to the hardware store for extra supplies, tile and a flexible duct for the exhaust fan. They patched the drywall around the new tub but we are responsible for all the holes from old fixtures. Hoping the new towel racks fit the old holes!

I saw, I think, a opossum living under our deck in an old wood pile, All I saw was the tail disappearing when I walked out, mid day. Oh well, another ground hog living under the garage, opossum under the deck, finch living in the insulation. The cost of living in rural america..............I love it!

Oh boy ground hog babies will be coming soon! Maybe opossum's too and must be a nest of the birds in the insulation so babies there too. Ya gotta love the babies! Only babies I see here are the bunnies and sometimes baby birds and fawns.

Nothing bugging us here now but a few yellow jackets and later the biting flies will come and there aren't many of them.

I love your elephant ears, Sissy!!! I just got a few from another ponder, and as soon as someone tells me how to grow them (and not kill them ... I've not had much luck so far ...) I'm going to plant them! Do you have yours in dirt or in your pond, Sissy? And, if you have them in your pond, in a pot of kitty litter, or what? I have enough to experiment, but want them ALL to grow and multiply. I can't imagine them multiplying, when I can't even get them to grow well. I wonder if it has to do with all the wind here, making it extra difficult for them to grow in the spring....

Mine grew great in kitty litter at water level. The ones stuck in rocks did not do well, the ones in the pea gravel not as good as the kitty litter. The kitty litter did the best.

Addy, do elephant ears like sun or shade or little of both? I put the black taros I kept from last year next to the waterfall wall, in the bog, so they are sheltered somewhat from the wind. Wanting to put a couple of the larger ones on the south side of the waterfall wall, in the ground, which is right above the septic tank. Won't matter if it needs to be dug or pumped out, as those plants have to be dug up in the fall, but just wondering if full sun will be too much for them. I'll have to look it up and see, getting anxious to get them in the ground. :blueflower:

OK, I have a gripe. Keep in mind I live in the country. Out here, we (at least I) mow my road ditches that are on my property. I have a road ditch next to the horse pasture, then in front of my house no ditch (My yard is high on this stretch of road), and I usually mow across the road from my property just a couple of passes.
Last year, my "stupid" neighbor across and down the road from me, decided to mow on my side of the road, on my property, whenever he mowed! Keep in mind I typically mow every 3-5 days this time of year, to stay ahead of the grass, and to keep my yard looking nice, plus I mow tall, I do NOT like grass that is scalped. He mows much shorter, and maybe every 10 days. I finally told him to stop mowing my ditch, and for SURE don't mow in my yard!!! He said, "Why?" DUH!!!! Because I mow it just fine on my own, and my road ditch next to the pasture does NOT need to be mowed 3 times a week, it makes the tire tracks eventually burn up! "Oh, I didn't know that." Geesh ... I said it nicely, told him his new Kubota mower was doing a better job than my mower, so that made him smile ... and quit. It was a lie, as my mower does a perfect job of mowing, but I needed a way to get through his thick skull, as he and his wife are NOT the brightest stars in the sky! Well, today he mowed not only my ditch (just one pass mind you) but also in my front yard! Grrrr ..... it's wet, and I don't need more ruts in my ditches than what I make myself, thank you very much. What an idiot. And, here's the other thing that makes me mad. I know we are pretty much the only ones that drive our road, but why in the heck does he have to mow so that all the grass ends up on the road? And, he mows short, so there's that much more ... sometimes there is 6" of grass totally covering the road. I told him last year to use the extra "pass" to drive on the road and blow the grass off! You would think he could figure that out ..... I give him one more time to mow on my side, and then war begins ... well, not war, cause I'm a nice person, but a phone call WILL be made!!! OK, off my soap box ....
