Addy, do elephant ears like sun or shade or little of both?
If you know their individual names, look them up. Hubby has 3 different varieties, and one of them really hates getting a lot of sun. I dont know the name of it anymore, but can take a close up of the leaf color if it helps. I want to say it's an imperial, but not positive.

I am going to take my mom to church tomorrow, then we will have lunch and coffee. I don't go to church too often and this will make my mother very happy too!

CE I am pick about how I shovel my walk, and do it my self. When others try to help it bugs me cause they shovel all wrong and they don't pile the snow just right! :)

CE my neighbor used to come half way into our front yard, scalped the yard i.e. an inch or so. I very nicely spoke to his wife asked her to ask him to stop cause it kills the grass esp when it is so hot and dry here. He stopped right away. He had just lost track of where our yard started his stopped. Good luck, hate neighbor battles.

My other side neighbor would mow one little stripe of grass, his, his mower would not mulch, so I ended up with tons of large clumps of dead grass on my grass. I asked him if he would mind not mowing it and I would when I mowed the area, now I mow it, takes one run down his drive edge and done. No more clumps of dead grass.

as a new pond owner - i think my goldfish are mating - they are chasing each other like mad.
if this is part of the mating game and they do lay eggs, how long will it be before the eggs hatch?

They lay eggs, the males chasing fertilize the eggs, the fish eat them if they can. Not sure on hatching time.

I think the eggs hatch in just a matter of days, maybe 3. Addy is right, the other fish will do their best to eat all the eggs and tiny fry they can, free food! So, if you want to keep them, you will have to relocate the eggs into another space, with water flow and filtration, until the babies are large enough. Most of us see it as population control, though.

Addy, I totally agree, don't like neighbor wars. I never let it get to that. But, I will let him know to please not mow on my side of the road again. I think he does it so that he feels like he's not wasting the pass on riding on the road. I, however, would prefer for him to blow the grass off the road instead of mowing mine ONTO the road. There is always a solution, and I'll nip it in the butt first thing this year. I'm going to mow today, once the dew is dried off of the grass, and if he's outside (usually they are never outside .... totally opposite of me), I will let him know with a nice big smile on my face, that he doesn't need to mow on my side any more this summer. :blueflower:

OK, I mowed today, and where I mowed next to the pass my neighbor did on my side of the road, in my yard and ditch, is 2" higher than where he mowed. THIS is why I don't want him mowing on my side. Geesh ... and I dropped my deck a notch, too. Next week will drop it again, but never mow as short as he does. I know lots of people like it that way, and that's perfectly fine. But, don't do the scalping in my yard, please ....

We used to scalp and it did nothing but make a lot of space for the sun to reach the weeds/moss and get them growing faster than the grass. Now w/ mowing at 2&1/2" we are hoping it will shade out the weeds and help the grass grow better. Good luck CE on getting your neighbor to behave :banghead3:
