Capewind, Cathy had to have her plumbing removed at a very young age. What you have revealed sounds so complicated yet a happy ending is what we all wish for you. Back during her troubles she related the absurdities her doctors spouted out. In fact, while in hospital for her full hysterectomy the surgeon walked into her room talking nonsense. The old fool thought she was another of his patients. LOL. You ladies are a complex lot. I truly believe us men have no idea as to what you go through. Our prayers for you shall be ringing the All Might's iPhone each night.

Colleen, your husband is surely a man of strong will and determination. It is easy to ascertain you and he are a matched pair. Your steadfast support and love plays a big part in his recovery. I know just how important it is to have a wife that stands ready to do whatever is necessary to pull through the seemily impossible. God bless you both. So wonderful knowing your hubby is rapidly progressing.

My thanks to all ladies!

I forgot to mention, as most of you already know, that my dear sweet hubby got his cancer from chewing tobacco for 30 years. So if anyone out there missed it, he got the cancer right where he put the chew, under the top lip. They cut huge amounts of his face away and had to rebuild his inside and outside of his mouth. He also has a big scar that runs from ear to ear, and it looked like they tried to cut off his head, but it was to get at the lympth nodes. The one picture you can see how his one leg swelled to three or fours times the normal amount. That is all back to normal now, but what he went thru was hell, and so did I, so if any of you are using tobacco, please try to quit, not just your sake, but the sake of those who love you....

I know it's a bit touche' but what doesnt kill us, makes us stronger. Like many, have had a curve ball (or many) but we all get through it. Cant be afraid to live life. We all just do the best we can, and the rest (Lord willing) takes care of itself. On a positive note, a few folks here are aware of the car accident our daughter was recently in ... She is on cloud 9 right now. After looking at roughly 30 cars, she found one that met Daddy Approval tonight, and the dealer accepted her personal check, and is out now with it:) I say life is GOOD:)

i gotta ask you one question Big Lou... did you watch the video i posted? any of the others on the link? and do you still think what i said is "outlandish bullshit", as you put it? the father gave his son,( who has the worste kind of eplilepci) a single dose of a CBDs oil and the kid went from (sometimes multiple) daily grand mal seizures to not 1 in 4 days. on 1 dose, and thats just when he was back on video . how much longer did the kid go without a seizure? ... the best 4 days in 4 years? and no side effects? did you watch any of the others?

On keeping with the thoughts of a lighter mood, thought I would share how our afternoon/early evening went yesterday:)

So our daughter calls about 2:30 from work, saying she found another car on Craigslist (dealer) that she wants to go look at. She has already called the dealer, explained about her accident, has looked at a lot of cars, doesnt want to waste a trip, and their asking price is more than she has (they were asking $8000). She tells them she only has $6500 (insurance company gave her $6800 for her car, but needed to hold back a bit to register, etc, without getting into her savings) ... He tells her that since he has TWO of the same vehicle, if she could come up with $7000, he would let her take either ...

So she tells me all of this, and red flags are going off ... dealers dont just drop their prices over the phone ... but she tells me they are open til 6 .. told her I didnt think we could make it today, as I had a meeting with a new ad rep at 4:30 and didnt know if we would finish in time ... my meeting went great, really liked him ... so anyways, she calls the dealer back, tells him this, and he offers to stay later.

The meeting ends at 5:30 .. so she asks if we can go ... I say call the dealer, and yes, he is willing to wait. Was going to take a bit to get there. Needed gas, and needed to drop a car off to another kid so he could get home from work (when daughter got out of work, walked over and took her brothers car LOL) ... Im still not feeling warm and fuzzy, as again, dealers dont just drop their prices over the phone, I am thinking it is yet another rat. Because of the nature of her accident, she wants an SUV, but doesnt want to pay for fuel in a v-8, and with a limited price point to work with, that dropped the only option to Ford Explorers. We have been to EVERY new and used car dealer in the area.

Hubby went over the vehicle and actually gave this one a go ahead (one rusty bolt on a body mount was the worst defect). One owner (CarFax), and obviously well cared for. She was thrilled. So she writes two checks to the dealer. One for the purchase, and one for the registry ... So he knows her old car is gone, and has kept her plates ... I was expecting to go back today to pick it up (after the checks were verified to be good). When he learned that we had her plates in our truck, he told her she could take it home last night:)

I had looked up the book value before going, and at dealer, in mint condition, it was $7600. The CarFax report noted adding another $1100 for the good history, so thinking she made out well getting it for $7000. It's a 2002 Ford Explorer Limited (the top model with every conceivable option for the year).

Here are the dealer pictures that were posted online.

Seemingly a very good buy Capewind. We went thru the same situation when our kids were younger. At 30 & 31 now each are married and enjoying all the joys of their own car ownership. Wifey mention awhile back that wasn't it nice not to own four cars, to pay for gas, maintence and insurance for four cars. ( parental smile )

Aside from we had her driving one of our "extra" cars when she was first licensed, her grandmother took it upon herself to go car shopping, and bought a 2002 Jeep Liberty .. the first year of them, daddy didnt inspect it, MIL just wrote the check and bought it, and less then 2 months later, the frame went ... she got the money back (there was a recall), and then MIL gave her her car ... which is what she was still driving the night she was Tboned by a drubk driver ... No one was planning on her getting another car, and after daddys disapproval of the Jeep (never buy a Gen 1, let them get the bugs worked out first), and the problems it had (the bad frame was obvious if one looked), our daughter knew she BETTER have dad look at the next LOL. She could have spent a little less if she could have found a private party sale, but we were in a hurry to get her mobile again, and I dont feel that any 20 yr old should have a car loan... heck, I avoid them. Cash only, please and thank you LOL ...

MY REPLY HAS BEEN EDITED PLEASE REREAD

You made a blanket statement that stated "cures". Using the word "cures" is far reaching, extremely powerful, world changing even revolutionnary. For now please, please let this subject be as far as I am involved. My opinion may one day change. For now my functional life depends upon conventional medications.

My reply to your cures posts was fueled with raw, unabated emotion. Any inference taken as a personal slight is regretted. Your are oviously a caring man. I wish you the very best in your good works toward better health.

Lou

KOI Guy, I could not convince my dear sweet hubby to even try the stuff, even with all the suffering he went through. Just like my sisters will never get me to be vegan, Sissy's never going to eat meat, and I will never drink hubby beer..... yuck!! I love them dearly, and thankfully we all have a choice ..... well not all of us yet, as marijuana medicine still needs to be made a free choice.

The doctors in Calgary or Medicine Hat would have prescriped my hubby the medicial marijuana if he so desired. Many patients at the Tom Baker Cancer Clinic in Calgary openly smoke Marijuana outside the building in the smoking areas, and nobody bats an eyelash, as it is now widely accepted here as medicine.:)

Our landscaping project is in a state of flux due to the contractor taking on the driveway project which he did not have the fore stated technical ability or funds. We are working with him to change the project scope so he completes the gardens while saving face. I am now interviewing well expressed driveway decorative tradesmen. All should be well in the end. ( claim, confident expression )
