All this talk about contractors has me nervous! We have 3 separate companies coming in to do work. One company could probably done all the work but we wanted to get someone who specializes in each area. Still not sure about using Sears for the bath remodel but time will tell-

I really am not a people person. My full time job was being a mom, so when I had time to relax, relax was what I needed, and pets can always make a crazy day melt away. House is really empty feeling at this point. Just one dog, one cat, Baby, two fire belly newts and the fish. Never in my adult life have I had so few pets. We had two "unwanted" goats, but after they ate (MOWED) the pond plants last summer, found them a new home ... had a hawk take out one of the chickens in the fall, so placed the rest with a friend til we can redo (cover) their pen... the horses both passed away a few years ago, and also in the last two years lost two of the dogs (one to old age, one at 8 to cancer)... I think this is why I have become obcessed with the fish LOL. Although we did aquire a new pet Tuesday ... one of the kids friends officially moved in, so now have another 21 yr old "son" ... he is already adding interest ... hubby tore the house apart for an hour this morning trying to find his wallet ... looked everywhere ... finally texted our new "son" and sure enough, he had it LOL ... told hubby he needs to find a new spot for his wallet ... this boy would NEVER steal from us, but hubby and him have the same style, black, tri fold leather wallet LOL.

99% of the time things go fine. Dont let a few idiots shake you up. We dont often have to hire someone (both hubby and I are handy, but in different ways), but I ask 3 questions ... 1. Length of time in the trade, 2. Proof of insurance (insurance is cheap, so if they dont have it, it is a big red flag), and 3, References. You know they are only give you good references, but it will allow you to get out and see some of their work, and the work will speak for itself, good or bad.

Thanks for the well kitty wishes :) I will surely post pictures as they come out of their hiding places more. The little female is coming around more every day. We've named her Lucy! She so lovey just very skidish. The male, I'm worried about sorta, you can tell he very, very sad :( . He'll let me hold him, and he likes to be loved on, I just hope he comes out of the sadness :( They are both beautiful cats, long fluffy hair, and we think he might be a Maine Coone, from what we can tell, he's lost alot of fur on his body (its very thin).

Just gotta ask Event Horizon. Did you name yourself after the movie with the same name?
No, but people ask me that... lol I like space and the stars. The Event Horizon is part of a black hole; it is the point of no return. Even light will not return if it crosses the event horizon of a black hole. I always thought that was quite amazing.

Here is a picture of the moon I took a few years back. I just stuck a point and shoot camera into the view piece of a telescope. I just love looking up into the sky.

Thanks.
You are right it’s amazing to see all the hits the moon has taken. The Earth has lots of water and vegetation to cover up all its hits. There seems to have been a lot more large near misses with asteroids in the last few years. it was interesting that there was so much talk about the near Asteroid miss in February (office building size), and coincidently on the same day Russia gets get with a Meteor.

BILL HAS GONE AND DONE IT AGAIN...

"They're standing on the corner and they can't speak English.
I can't even talk the way these people talk:
Why you ain't,...
Where you is,
... What he drive,
Where he stay,
Where he work,
Who you be...
And I blamed the kid until I heard the mother talk.
And then I heard the father talk.
Everybody knows it's important to speak English except these knuckleheads. You can't be a doctor with that kind of crap coming out of your mouth.
In fact you will never get any kind of job making a decent living.

People marched and were hit in the face with rocks to get an Education, and now we've got these knuckleheads walking around.
The lower economic people are not holding up their end in this deal.
These people are not parenting. They are buying things for kids.
$500 sneakers for what?
And they won't spend $200 for Hooked on Phonics.

I am talking about these people who cry when their son is standing there in an orange suit.
Where were you when he was 2?
Where were you when he was 12?
Where were you when he was 18 and how come you didn't know that he had a pistol?
And where is the father? Or who is his father?
People putting their clothes on backward:
Isn't that a sign of something gone wrong?
People with their hats on backward, pants down around the crack, isn't that a sign of something?

Isn't it a sign of something when she has her dress all the way up and got all type of needles [piercing] going through her body?
What part of Africa did this come from??
We are not Africans. Those people are not Africans; they don't know a thing about Africa .....

I say this all of the time. It would be like white people saying they are European-American. That is totally stupid.
I was born here, and so were my parents and grand parents and, very likely my great grandparents. I don't have any connection to Africa, no more than white Americans have to Germany , Scotland , England , Ireland , or the Netherlands . The same applies to 99 percent of all the black Americans as regards to Africa . So stop, already! ! !
With names like Shaniqua, Taliqua and Mohammed and all of that crap ......... And all of them are in jail.

Brown or black versus the Board of Education is no longer the white person's problem.
We have got to take the neighborhood back.
People used to be ashamed. Today a woman has eight children with eight different 'husbands' -- or men or whatever you call them now.
We have millionaire football players who cannot read.
We have million-dollar basketball players who can't write two paragraphs. We, as black folks have to do a better job.
Someone working at Wal-Mart with seven kids, you are hurting us.
We have to start holding each other to a higher standard..
We cannot blame the white people any longer.' "

A male patient is lying in bed in the hospital, wearing an oxygen
mask over his mouth and nose. A young student nurse appears and
gives him a partial sponge bat...h.

"Nurse,"' he mumbles from behind the mask, "are my testicles black?"

Embarrassed, the young nurse replies, "I don't know, Sir. I'm only
here to wash your upper body and feet."

He struggles to ask again, "Nurse, please check for me. Are my
testicles black?"

Concerned that he might elevate his blood pressure and heart rate
from worrying about his testicles, she overcomes her embarrassment
and pulls back the covers.
She raises his gown, holds his manhood in one hand and his testicles
gently in the other.

She looks very closely and says, "There's nothing wrong with them,
Sir. They look fine."

The man slowly pulls off his oxygen mask, smiles at her, and says
very slowly, "Thank you very much. That was wonderful. Now listen
very, very closely:

Are - my - test - results - back?"
