Wow, was today a bummer at work. I usually get only a few phone calls a day, which leads to lots of work getting accomplished. Mondays seem to be worst (and full moon days, too), but today ... I think I had back to back phone calls for close to half of my working day. What was up with that? I am so worn out tonight, whew! Tomorrow will definitely be a better day.
Happy Monday ... glad it's almost over.

Koiguy I appreciate your humor and glad I can come here to this spot and enjoy myself

CE you poor overworked lady! Maybe you should ask for a raise? Thinking nowadays people are lucky to just have a job let alone a raise eh? My days of raises are over and glad of it. I can be a slacker now whenever I feel like it

Oh, I love my job, really I do, just on days when it is 20 times more phone calls than normal, that made for a weary day. I won't ask for a raise, as I work for the State of Illinois, and we all know that some of our elected officials (Governors for sure!) are convicts, and our State is more than broke. I'm happy to have a job, and the attorney I work for has not had a raise in 5 years! Not even cost of living, NOTHING! So, I am thankful for the piddly raises I have gotten since I am union. Someday I will be able to be a slacker every day, but I'm not quite ready for that just yet.
I agree, glad this is one of those threads where we can come and enjoy fun and laughter with others! I love this GPF!

Oh good God Almighty!

The landscaper's crew is busy putting up new trellis posts so they asked to use my waterhose to have water to mix the cement. I said sure then later noticed my hose was still reeled. One of the workers told me he couldn't find the hose so he was going to the pond water flowing from my filter unit back into the pond! I know I should not have yet I immediately told his boss he was about to be one worker short since the fellow planning on getting my beautiful naturalized pond water was about to die. Everyone knew I was kidding about the killing but damn well knew they better not touch the pond water. I went and pulled the hose to them so this story had a happy ending.

Wooops!!!!! I would not have wanted to be that guy when you found out he was dipping from your pond!!! LOL They don't realize how much time and effort we put into our ponds to keep them healthy for the fish, and appealing for humans to view at the same time.
Never hurts to make a point, and then laugh it off, long as the point is well taken!

Here is a photo of a really old wooden glider we plan to convert to a comfortable bench for the main deck. Obviously, it looks all crooked due to the out of line glider hardware. With that old mechanism out the bench will be nice and straight. Over the past 23 years it have been many colors. Today I used my high pressure hose to blast away all of the loose finish. Since the LS wants the decks and wooden walkways left worn I'm wondering if this bench should be left as it looks or be painted? (no colors in mind yet)
