Big Lou, If you enjoy the bench and plan to use it I would for sure varnish or paint it. If it is too worn and not in use, then it could be worked into the landscape beside some nice Daisy's with other old vintage items like an old watering can.

That’s what we have done with our old bench. I made this bench one afternoon about 25 years ago from old barn boards. Once it got too old to sit on we incorporated it into our garden.

Whoa .... hold on a minute!!! Who moved, Sissy???? You surely did not move from your beautiful home and lot to Michigan, did you? I haven't seen you on here for a long time and wondered what was going on. Did your son move his stuff out of your house and move to MI? Please let us know all is well with you. Glad to see you're back!!!

Ok here's what I think. Sissy had all those baseball cards and maybe it took a truck that big to cart them off and Michigan is their destination. I can't see sissy moving to Michigan..............it's wayyyyyyyyyyyy to cold there for her bones :cold: Let's just say I will be very surprised if she did

Oh, I think you have it figured out, JW. I do recall her saying that a guy from MI was coming for the cards, but OMG, I had no idea she had that many that he needed that large of a truck!!!! I was thinking her one son had his house destroyed by the storms on the east coast (Sandy?) earlier last year, and he had things stored at her house so wondered if HE moved to MI. We will just have to be patient to see what Sissy says when she returns. We sure get worried when one of our "regular" friends goes quiet for more than day, don't we?!

Want to buy a garden hose reel but why so difficult. Money that's why! Cathy tells me that I have lost touch with the current cost of goods. Maybe she is correct but I do not understand why the price for decent garden hose reel is between $50 & $100 or more. With all the hub bub going on with the yard work and the usual with the pond I have a quite long heavy duty hose. My previous reel was one of those water powered self winders. It leaked from every connection so I going back to a good quality manual reel. Ace Hardware has one that seems decent. I plan to call my friend Dale at our local Ace to determine it that particular model is in stock. If not I'll have to order it over the spiders web.

Just noticed there is no real purpose for this post other than I must have wated to chat. ( SMILE )
