Well that sounds like a nice time and you both sound relaxed after the trip .When I lived in NJ I used to have big holiday parties and decorate and cook lots of food but here I have only put up a tree 2 times in over 8 years .No big meals just small and son lives up in NJ so no traveling since hubby has eye exam the 26 th and then eye surgery on the 28 th of this month and then back to check both eye surgeries on the 2 nd of January and then his visit to the heart doctor in January for his check up and blood tests .I never grew up with Christmas but my sons did and they will get checks in the mail to help them out .Since oldest lost everything in the Sandy storm and insurance has still not paid out he needs it .

The really nice thing about the hotel stay an such is that we pay for it with reward points so no $ out of our pockets. IMO, getting involved in a rewards program only works when (1) when using a charge card (not credit card) with a charge card the total balance must be paid each month (2) you use the charge card as you would with cash or to pay for recurring necessities such as monthly health insurance (3) the rewards program is free. We are not able to take normal vacations so this once a year treat is extra special.

You and your husband seem to be a very strong and loving couple. Cathy and I pray all continues to go well for you both.

I like the cash back cards, it climbs pretty nicely. Agree the key is to never carry a balance.

Me too, I like the American Express card from Costco..........get nice bucks back from that one. Some from American Express and another check from Costco. And yes never carry a balance. Sipping some strawberry brandy after a hard day of wrapping prezzie's and cleaning house. Didn't get my walk in today, shame on me and didn't get the mole hills raked either but I sure am enjoying this brandy now

yeh mine gives me points to buy stuff from there catalog and so far got 3 LED tv's and 2 home depot gift certificates for 200 dollars each .But they decided this is the last year for that and i have until March to use my points and trying to decide what I want .I adjust glad my hubby made it and we will be able to celebrate our 40 th anniversary .Thank you all for your prayers sometimes i forget to say it as I just get to wrapped up with all the doctor stuff now .Seems lately it consumes most of my time and energy .So thanks everyone .Addy sounds like you are working more than enjoying .It is always great to get away Lou no matter how short it is and just time together to relax and forget all that is going on .Jw you warming the heart and soul with that stuff the whole house will look rosey and bright . :razz:

I sure hope I get 40 years together with my sweet pea hubby, so far it's been 22 years and counting! Thankful for every day I have with him and glad he is not going to Calgary for more radiation torture treatments until after Christmas! Poor guy, radiation getting tough towards the end of treatment. His mouth is all raw, his lips are swollen and cracked, he is getting very skinny and he is back on the morphine for pain and he sleeps lots. Spring is coming and the sun will shine strong, birdies wll sing a nice song, and he will get better and be able to sit in the sun by the pond with me again. Thank you Jesus!

Well the rest at home feels better to your hubby and guessing the calming noises of home make him feel more relaxed .At least he gets a little time and by spring he will be back to normal and it will all just be a bad dream you got through together .

nah Sissy not working that hard on this trip, doing finish up stuff. Working on his dad's house, we are moving in a full time aide for them, so some things to get done. We are working and playing this trip, thinking of putting this house up for rent, maybe.
