I have an old barn that needs to be torn down. Wish I knew someone that would pay for the old barn wood. I know you can sell pieces of it pretty high, but to get someone to come take it off the barn, probably would want it given to them, and not sure that wouldn't be the best way to do it. I've been talking about that barn for a while, the foundation is shot, so it will need to come down and not get fixed up, darn it. TONS of really good lumber inside, as it was a corn crip. So there is tongue and groove 2x10's in there in 2 large corn cribs, and all the rafters and so forth are in excellent condition, but won't be for long, as the roof is coming apart a sheet of metal at a time. :-(
Love that little "shack" Colleen! Sissy, do you have stainless steel countertops then? I don't like the granite either, or maybe I've only seen the cheap stuff. I had something called Corian, but not the expensive stuff when I was married, and you had to polish that stuff! It was crazy! When you used this special cleaner it looked fantastic, but otherwise it was very dull. I like a shiny countertop. I'd take old fashioned formica over that dull looking stuff they have. I guess there is much better quality granite, too, as my sister has granite, and it's very shiny and pretty. She doesn't use anything special on it either.
