Thanks Colleen... I love my kitchen:) That was my big splurge in building this house, but between the work we did ourselves (most of it LOL), and I am a strong negotiator (being a GC has its advantages when building your own house), I saved enough money throughout the project to pull it off. I swear the appliance companies were the only ones I couldnt get down as much as I wanted LOL. Well, I got them from NO discounts to 10% so I cant really complain!

BTW, my washer and dryer are maroon;-) I wanted to get a red stove, but hubby talked me out of getting the Viking, and went Wolf instead... Both of them were through the roof price wise ($15k) but Wolf was the better made product.

I want to say it was $100 more to get the laundry machines in maroon, but I dont remember anymore... if selling is in the wings, you are always better off going black or SS... We've flipped a few properties, as well as work with realtors... the MOST important thing when selling a house is curb appeal... if you cant get them in the door, you are not going to sell... So many inexpensive quick fixes for a yard, it isnt even funny, yet people neglect that altogether... a pond is a negative for most folks...either they see HOW do they take care of that...or what is it going to cost to remove it...too few enjoy our hobby as we do...

I don't ever want to move, this just feels like home, been here so long, since 1987, too many rocks to move and I'm all dug in!! I could not bear to leave my pond, put my heart and soul into the pond and flowers. I do like my curb appeal, I worked the front yard so hard, finally got new sidewalk, tons of flowers and people just love my flower beds.

Very pretty yard, Colleen! Keep showing us those spring/summer flowers and we will all keep that in mind and before we know it, spring will be here .... hopefully sooner rather than later.

Down here curb appeal does not matter as much as how much land the house sits on .My house only has 3 acres so not as desirable ,but most of the houses here are and acre or less but some are 5 acres or more ,but much smaller homes and they are not on view lots .Here land is king and men here want to be king .Great thing is behind y house is a large family owned farm with woods between and some of it was forested .Across from my house up on another hill is another large farm .My pond will be taken out if I decide to sell and the fish will be moved to the pond at the other house and that has 12 acres and don't think Mike and Tesia would ever sell .I think that's why I chose to do my pond like it is ,easy to remove ,but hard to move fish an hour away .I love the rocks around your flower beds and the doggie statues

Love the beds Colleen! I dont think we'll be going anywhere any time soon. For us, this property just has too much to offer, in so many ways. The house was designed so that the kids could all stay at home til they were ready to buy their own houses, including being able to move gf/bf/future spouses in... and then when they do that, we have the option of turning this house into a B&B.

I think I have watched Days of our Lives now for over twenty five years now, crazy, can't believe it's been that long! My mother used to watch "As the World Turns", so I guess its "in the family". Gee it's been a long running show, lots of soaps are dying off it seems.
