Sissy, I dont read this thread every day, and am so sorry to hear of all you are going through. I dont understand why they have to be so difficult about the stove. Like you need an issue with them with everything else going on... The repair guy is likely just a subcontractor... simply ask him to order EVERY part (aka a whole stove) and bill them. Even if you dont purchase an extended warranty, the manufactures usually cover their products for a year. When you purchase a new product, there is a law, wish I could remember the name of it (not lemon law, there's another) that refers to its implied usable life expectancy.

I purchased an extended warranty and only bought the range in August and he has replaced every part that he can the whole top of the range is new and it still does not work right and I paid for the 4 year warranty .As a matter of fact it works worse than it did before .I just wait for a windy day open the front windows and then open the sliding glass doors and let the wind blow the dust bunnies out .But still have to wash slippers once in awhile .

already did and consumer affairs and also called home depot where I bought the fridge and range .I also filed a complaint with the U.S. safety commission to try to get the ranges recalled as I found there were lots of complaints.

Sissy, for what they have spent running that repairman out there, and replacing parts, they should have just replaced the stove. Lowes gets appliances back all the time. Nothing to them, they get refunded from the manufactorer. That's just dumb, and bad business on Home Depot's part. Also was sorry to read about all your medical problems, health care isn't cheap, that's for sure. Sure hope things start looking up for you both

Well, FINALLY they called LG??? Good grief, why in the world didn't they do that 2 times ago? A new range, doesn't work? Should have been replaced after the first time. Sounds like HD is making a butt load of warranty repair money off of LG. I would have thought LG should have been the one to complain directly to so you would have gotten new range sooner. Doesn't matter where you purchased the range, it's still LG that is looking really bad here, HD is second in line. But, I suspect you DID contact LG, and they were punting to HD. Not smart ... maybe they will learn their lesson (LG that is) from your experience.
And, I agree with Colleen, they should be giving you the best of the best in replacement for all your trouble! It is a really nice looking stove, though.
My sister has the front load washer/dryer. I have an old Maytag. I think it's over 30 years old, came with this house, and is the exact same model I had when I was married, and that W/D set is 31 years old now! Anyhow, washer leaked, had it fixed, cost me about $150, but the guy said it will probably last another 30! He said that the rubber rings were the only thing that go bad on the washers. Dryer heating unit may go bad, but I suspect that has already been replaced. I agree, old is probably made much better than new, but new is far more efficient. I really need a new fridge .... but hate throwing out a good one, too. Now, the stove really needs to be replaced, as I'm pretty sure it is close to 30 years old as well. Maybe Santa will bring me new appliances some day .... LOL Actually, someday I will totally remodel my kitchen, and THEN I will get new appliances. But, all works perfectly, so why change it yet? Same thing with the cabinets, they are solid wood, 30 years old, not made that way now unless you get custom made.

I gave my other appliances to mike and tesia and they just put in a new heater defroster in the fridge at less than 80 dollars and the are working great .I gave them my dishwasher and over the range microwave too ,all stainless and 8 years old .The old stuff I gave away and they love them.I love my new fridge it is a ge and has a sealed compressor motor and ce you can donate them and get a write off on your taxes no matter the age of them .Now is the best time all the holiday sales ,I know hd here had a 2 door one onsale for less than 900 dollars .The extended warranty was only 79 dollars for each appliance for 4 years so not bad and free delivery and where I live most places charge for delivery .Hd also has the interest free for 1 year on there card on appliances .
