Thank you Haver79! Must have taken you a while to read my thread, and the "story of my life" goes with this thread too sometimes....
I am glad you have a pond and joined our forum, must warn you, ponds and this forum can be very addicting! HA HA HA

Well this last long weekend of summer was very hot, things are not looking like fall yet, and I hope it stays nice for September! :fish: :fish2: The fishes got to swim thru the sprinkler for a cool down and it was a good way to top up the bottom pond...

I also added fine sand to seal the cobbled walk in tighter, and smooth over the cobble walk....

Yes Colleen, did take me awhile to get all through the post. :)

I'm already finding out just how addicting this pond is. And this is my first summer with the pond! Already thinking of what improvements to make next spring.
Need to redo my waterfall. (not happy with the look) and add more plants. Gotta get some of sweet flag and yellow flag iris like you have. Will wait and order some next spring though.
Our summers winding down here.

Hey, it's been over 20 years and I still can think of non stop improvements, now I want to make the top pond bigger soon.... It NEVER ends!! Ha ha ha ... :)

Must take the bad puppies to the river now before it gets dark, as it gets dark here early now, sun sets today at 8 pm! (Must gather more rocks for cobbing....)

So hear I sit again, all by myself, having a fresh cup of coffee by the pond right now! Why don't my garden pond friends just pop by my pond, jump thew the "net' and visit, I got a comfy chair by the pond for all of you! Ha ha ha. OK, I confess, I am a rock addict! Going to the park this morning to get more rocks to cobble the other side of the pond now.... :)

I made the out door rooms myself, I have to do everything myself or it won't get done, cause hubby out of town working all the time and then he does what he can to help out.
I can't believe how much work I can get done in the summer, but the house is badly neglected right now, cause so much outside I still want to get done before the cold weather gets here.

I dragged over 50 cement blocks home this summer, to make the padio and out door living room, six cement blocks at a time. Each cement block weigh 50 lbs, so it was a lot a weight to move. Then I had to level the ground as best as possible. I know the ground will shift as the blocks settle, so I will fix that in the spring. Then I dragged hundreds of ponds of rocks for cobbling this last month, and couple hundred pounds of rock every day, put them in the back of the Blazer, when I go take the puppies down to the river, each and every day! I want to cobble as much as possible to get the old fashion look thats Retro and cheap. Everything I try to do cheap, got most of the outdoor furniture last fall at over 50% off. Now is the time to get sales on out door stuff.

I could never afford to pay someone to do all the work for me, so I have to do it myself. Besides, true happiness is found in doing the job yourself if you can, cause the pleasure and satisfaction I get after a hard days work, is better than any drug for sure. :)

Here is my first panoramic picture view of the bottom and middle pond, I could not get the top pond pond in, but it gives you a better view of two of the three connecting ponds.

I can't complain, Hubby helps me out as much as he can, and this year he has really worked hard in the yard, planting a garden out back behind the fence and helping me out around the house when he is home. Hubby works out of town and make lots of sacifices and sleeps in a little trailer by the shop at Brooks. Hubby is home on most weekends, and some week days, but driving back and forth each day is too much after working long days to bring home the "BACON".

I consider myself lucky to have him help me gather rocks for my garden when he is home. I think the reason I made the pond nicer this year and made a big padio is because he won't sit on the deck with me anymore, cause he used to smoke there and it makes him want to smoke. So I made a new place to sit and wanted him to be safe from bugs, just because he was so sick last year with the cancer. I don't want him to get sick anymore and don't want him to start smoking tobbaco or worse, chewing the tobbaco that made him sick. I just wanted him to have a new place to relax and enjoy the garden with no urge or memories of smoking or chewing. I my love my hubby dearly and can't go threw that stress of him being sick again. I am suprised I never died myself of massive heart attack after all the stress when he was so sick. Live and love each day now, cause we don't know what tomorrow will hold....

Chilly wet day today, Colleen. We got up to 6 here.
I like it because maybe I'll go out and get some hard work done while the weather is cool! :umbrella:
