I just pour some over the rocks and sweep over with broom. Sprinkle Water, step on, and repeat if needed!
That is what I have done in the past, mainly sand in flagstone cracks.

I remember my mom used to put her coffee grounds in the garden to keep moles away and also salt .She said it burns there skin so they won't come back .It is the grubs they are after .I know I have been doing it around the outside part of my house for years .I have moles but I can't do 3 acres so only have been doing around the area of the house and back yard .

my mom used to have them save the coffee filters and grounds at the resturuants that they provided fresh veggies and strawberrys toio .They saved the egg shells and all the veggie scraps saved them going to the dumps and since dad delivered to them 3 times a week we got plenty for our compost back for free .

Today in Canada, had a walk with my favorite nefew, down by the river road across from the farmers field. What a nice day! Hopefully fall will stay nice too!

The last picture, Devin with Poppy as the big semi truck goes by with a load of fresh picked field onions, I picked some that fell off the road tonight, and used one in my supper. How's that for recycling! ha ha ha

The spaggetti sauce I made with that fresh picked onion that fell off the truck, was sure darn sweet! I also used free range organic ground beef, my wild fresh picked garden tomatoes, and fresh peppers too. I served that sauce over cabbage rolls fresh dug wild potatoes, all different colored potatoes, some purple skin, some red skin potatoes with a pinkish redish inside, not your usual potatoes that is for sure!! The wild potato's come in all colors, and they are some of the very early style original potatoes, and when mashed, they are purple, pink and red insides, not white mashed either. My mom says she remembers her parents had the every old wild fashion types, before we changed them and made them all white inside. Boy they were good, Next time I cut one up I will get you a picture so you can see.

I have not cooked pasta cause my hubby finds pasta and bread difficult to eat and swallow. I must say he sure looks very very good since he cut out the wheat! I need to cut out the wheat too.... :)

I like your somekins Colleen. Are you gonna carve them up like a pumpkin or are they edible? Bet you could find those wild potatoes to grow yourself in a plastic garbage can like they show on the garden shows.

My hubby does have them growing all over the back in the junk, in old tire rings, gargage pail, and even in large plastic garbage bags, filled with dirt behind the old cars and tractor. It is his garden so he can do as he wishes! Soon we will be harvesting our very own potato, started from actual seed, not a clone, that nobody else has, very soon.
