Sorry about your goldfish. I was sad when a small water snake got into my little pond and ate 2 fish. Can't imagine losing more. I know it is part of nature. But sad at times. Your guppy pond is so pretty and relaxing. If you weren't about 3000 miles away I would visit you and sit by your ponds frequently!!

I have had such bad luck these days... Starting to think hubby is right about "Pokemon" are at work or something! Couple weeks ago we had a hot water tank quit, then last week something ate half my biggest goldfish out of bottom pond, so that pond looks "bare".

Then yesterday afternoon the cable box and Internet just quit. Called the "help line" and still nobody here to fix that.... So hubby looked into the matter himself as he is very addicted to internet. U tube TV these days.... Discovered the cable line was "fried" on the outside of house. So nobody still here to fix that as hubby discovered that connection was "red hot" and he had to use gloves to unscrew cable connection and that cooled off everything.... So went to work and while I was at work, hubby noticed the lights blinking in house like crazy all afternoon. So hubby took the little Rio doggy outside to make a "p" and "there was "arching and sparking" going on in the back yard by power pole next to garage in alley and sparks where flying all over. Good thing it had rained just before or garage could have caught fire. So hubby called the city and they rushed right over and fixed everyrhing.... Except the cable and internet still not working. Cable guy might come tomorrow or Tuesday morning.

There must have been a "power transfer" to cable as cable lines have very low electricity usage, but a power transfer may have occurred when the power line was faulty, cause strange that lughts were blinking wildly before. Also they suspect lighting may have fried power cord during wild thunderstorms we have had lately.

Wow colleen! I hope all your electronics were not fried! I lost some stuff when a strike hit no where near our house.

Something ate all the biggest fattest goldfish from the bottom pond the other day!! Every few years something sneaks into yard and has a "feast" in the bottom pond... There are a handful of very scared fish left in bottom pond. Koi in upper ponds are fine as those fish are big and those upper ponds are very deep. The bottom pond is just a couple feet deep and something manages to wade in and feast on goldfish. I am hanging extra lines and I think I will criss cross fishing line over that pond to deter whatever is eating the fish out of that pond.

Do you have racoons in Medicine Hat?
We don't have them here.

That's because they all live at my house. Lost my third container of fish food to the rowdy raccoons last week. Finally wised up and started bringing it inside. Now I'll probably discover them sitting at my dining room table having a snack!

Seems everything ok in the house. Somehow the TV CABLE cord hookup outside the house was fried to nothing! The main powerline ground wire was broken in half and the cable line suddenly became the "ground wire" as they are hooked up to the power pole but cable line not supposed to have any electricity at all! We are very lucky that it was raining and no fire happened. It was very strange how it happened, Must have been related to the wild electrical storms we have had lately.
