OK here it is, the very latest and greatest in gardening trends...... STACKED ROCKS!!! Have you seen any around your area?? Maybe you have some already? It's so "in" around here that "Walmart" sells the "plastic look -a- like stacked rocks". On the way home from the river with the puppies I saw a "stacked rock bench!" Going to get a picture of that right after the walk with the puppies by the river tonight! I first saw a "stacked rock" collection by the river, in the shallow part that's only half a foot deep, someone was making "stacked rock things" that looked like little people from a distance. Then they started showing up in peoples flower gardens and yards. Now its so bad that you can buy "plastic stacked rocks" now just about everywhere! I always say I must have rocks for brains if I'm going buy the plastic type when I can make my own.... here is some of what I made in my yard, they look like "stacked rock frogs" to me!!! :) :) :)

PS I going to work on my own "stacked rock bench" soon!!!

Ha Ha yep they do look kinda like frogs or giant caterpillars! I don't have any in my gardens but will grab some more rocks when out walking and construct one and see how it turns out
My grand daughter is just finishing school to become a baker. She makes some yummy stuff :luxlove:
I drink my coffee w/o the coffee and just the cream w/ a little chocolate added

Can't wait to see what you create, JW!! This is exciting! LOOK what I found on the way home from the river today, right on the usual route... people proudly displaying their "stack rocks" right out in the OPEN!!! look at that cool stacked bench! These two different collections are from two different houses on the way home on Riverside, where the trees are really big and everyone's grass is so green, thanks to ton's of rain. There within four blocks of each other, the stack rock thing can be "catchy"... wait to you see my "rock" bench" that I made tonight, and it's real cute, and looks like a big bench, and you can really sit on mine! Will show tomorrow after work....

Did I mention that the "city" is going to fix my sidewalk this week, will take pictures of the before and after, had to move a bunch of very big rocks, prompting me to do this new rock thing I see popping up everywhere!

looking forward to seeing the bench, there is one near my mother-in-laws house, will post a photo if I get a chance. can definitely say they aren't catchy in landscaping here, mostly just on the beaches by the bay you will see where some people have stacked some, mostly kids just messing around I think. even saw a wall/fort once (only a few feet long tho)

Then you'll have to make one and they do look good in the garden, kinda like a mini mega-lift from some ancient culture. I see them on the garden tour that they have here every year, got to get tickets to the new garden show in July. Do you have a local "garden show"? Its were people put there yards and ponds in the "garden show" and you get to look at several gardens in town, different gardens are chosen each year, me and my mom usually go together. :) :) :)

Sissy some rocks really could be aliens that came to earth a long time ago. Rocks are interesting and each tell a different story. Some of my rocks are were old pieces of wood at one time, some where made of sand. Rocks have history and each one is so different. Plus I never had "hail" damage to any of my rocks, and theres no such thing as a broken rock, if they fall, you just have smaller easy to move pieces. :) :) :) I love rocks!

Colleen we have what they call garden tours here where you go from house to house by car and see what others have done. Never been to any tho, just heard how fun they are. Would love to do a pond tour also. Need to get more rocks to build my tower of rocks! Tell it to stop raining so I can go looking!
