Beautiful pics! Are you planning on the water going from the deck into the stream? Like a water fall? I had a couple of other suggestions but seeing it they wouldn't work. however after seeing the pics, a waterwheel would :) I'm intrested in seeing how you tie it in, That's a challenging spot, but with your imagination I bet it's going to to really look cool!

Simply gorgeous pictures once again, Addy! I love that bronze and orange colored goldfish in the second to last picture! Very unusual!

That was one of the first fry born this spring, I had a bunch of dark ones, now have dark and gold, dark and red, some just dark.

Some have turned into beautiful shubunkins.

That one when you look down on it almost looks like one of those koi with the scales that show real nice, I have another similar, but not as dark. Watching to see what happens with them.

You will have a showcase when done country! well we can pretend we are done!

Haha Addy, yes, I suspect we will never be "done" but it sure if fun watching the progress. I can't believe that your pond area just got started a little over a year ago. It's proof that it doesn't take many years to get plants and flowers, etc. to grow and bloom. BTW, my first lilly bloomed this morning! It's a white one. Anxious for the others to grow and bloom now, too! And, do the hyacinths only bloom for a day? I noticed mine bloom really pretty, then the spike and bloom falls over. :-( Is that normal?

Lily blooms last about three days, hyacinths one day. Lilies are best to pinch back once the flower is done, hyacinths are best not pinched back as this is where the babies are produced.

Well almost done, still some tile work to do:

The beginning:

The deck pond was going to be on that dark wood

making a frame out of left over 4x4's

bought a fiberglass pot, stuck a piece of pipe in

test water flow

by the next day the plans had changed, bought some more 4x4's glue and screwed it down, put in some carpet

Bought a small piece of epdm, much prefer my ppl36, but this was in town and ready.

One thing I did notice is the epdm gets real slippery, had to tighten it a few times, it stretches, it was a little easier to make fit corners than the ppl36. The ppl fits corners, doesn't stretch out, and is non slippery.

Line installed, decking used to hold the liner in place and trim out the pond.

Installed tile, slate, will see if it makes it though our winter, if not it will be changed out.

thanks we enjoy them so much. Working on installing a ip camera set up to see with just a glance if we are out of town. Got some really good dome security cameras, day/night., motion, the dvr is not real user friendly for internet set up, working on that right now, but it was given to us a 4k set up so trying to make it work lol.

Wow, not only done, but planted and frogs visiting already! I'm as usual, IMPRESSED! I love that frog .... do you know what it is? Very unusual, I'm sure we don't have any like that around here. Just tons of baby frogs and baby toads in my yard.

This is a gray tree frog we hear them calling in the woods all of the time, some around the pond.

Hyla versicolor/chrysoscelis

Their habitat consists of forester areas near permanent bodies of water, which are necessary for breeding. Gray tree frogs are not normally found close to the water except during the breeding season. During the summer gray tree frogs can be found in moist areas such as hollow trees or rotting logs. They typically over-winter under tree roots and leaves. Gray tree frogs are nocturnal, and they forage in trees and small bushes for small invertebrates.

Ahhh ... well that answers why I will never seen one either, since it's a mile to any substantial stand of woods. :) Thanks for sharing the info. I love learning and reading about frogs.
