Well being in full sun on a timer, algae moved in, so I moved in hyacinths.

Neat pictures and soon you will have to open a goldfish store and start selling them. Lots of nice colors and patterns on them. Hmmmmmmmmmm, I wonder if one can ship fish eggs and they would survive?
Your Hyacinth looks perfect in your deck pond. Gosh it grows good there for you! Maybe next year I'll give them a try here again but this time I'll buy a bunch of them and keep them tight together like you do.
We have deer visit here now and then and had to resort to putting C.D's hanging in limbs to protect small peach and cherry tree and Golden Chain tree. I like to see them but I like my trees too.Seems to be working.
There seem to be a lot of deer this summer here and I wonder if it's cuz it's been so cool here in the Spring and snow levels in the mountains were lower. Lots of bucks. Love to watch the babies play, butt heads and rear up and kick there legs. They are so graceful and when standing next to a wire fence they just seem to bounce like tigger right over but ever so gently.

There are two young bucks that are hanging out, both eat the apples, they leave my yard plants alone. But they love sunflower leaves. I had planted some along the back fence, the deer have neatly trimmed all of the leaves off the plants. ................oh well.

The hyacinths are doing great, all of them popping up blooms, the ones in the center of the bundle seem to do the best.

, I wonder if one can ship fish eggs and they would survive?
j.w.; The eggs of annual killifish are shipped by fanciers not only across the continent but even overseas, and they survive. But then, these eggs are normally laid before a drought and go dormant until the rains come again, so they don't hatch three days or so after the spawning! John

Addy what is that tall grassy plant just behind your hyacinth?

That is white star grass, it is not a hardy, but sure has grown nicely. I will bring it in for the winter and just stick it in the basement see if lives. In the basement in some water.

well we got a little rain, darn rain missed us again, but with that fresh rain water in the pond...............sigh.............

We now have chasing and bumping going on! Fatty must be a male it is chasing a long fin. Hopefully there are enough fish to keep the survivors down in numbers!

Well...........I was pulling water out of the deck pond to water the plants and .....................drum roll............... there are fry in both deck ponds........... Those guys managed to make it through a fine screen, a clear water pump i.e. it does not handle solids (should have been mashed up) up 50 feet of pipe over a rock water fall into the pond...........unreal

Now I need to go check the big pond see if I see fry. These will be a combo of the new long fins and who knows mix.

No I don't imagine you will see them in the big pond even if you stand there all day and night. I have stood by my pond which is tiny compared to yours and have to watch forever to even see one but then when they start getting bigger and braver I start seeing more each day.
