Robamy said similar and yhats when I told him what ill tell you start a thread. I'm game I have some ants I cox swap sell or trade . sounds like a god idea to me I just spent 400 bucks on some plants that could hold them all in 2 hands
@CometKeith - that's exactly the approach I take. I check a few news sites every morning, then I turn a blind eye to everything but the weather until the next day. The 24 hour news cycle will drive anyone nuts!

I just pulled a loaf of homemade sourdough out of the oven - nothing like fresh bread slathered with delicious butter!
The grass is always greener isn't it those stuck at home want to go back to work. those who have worked through are jealous of having a month off... other when I moved 20 years ago I haven't seen more then two weeks off since I was 15 or younger.

Yes we need to be more careful but they are becoming ridiculous in some of the things they are not allowing us to do and buy.

Overreach in so many areas. Michiganders can kayak but not use a boat with a motor? All the garden centers were forced to shut down. Can't buy paint. But liquor, lottery tickets and cigarettes are still "essential" - essential to the state budget, no doubt. But Fauci said Tinder hook ups are OK as long as you are "willing to accept the risk". WHAT??

Several Wisconsin county sheriffs have notified the governor that they will not be upholding orders that violate the constitutional rights of the citizens of their county. Less than 4000 cases in the entire state and Evers shuts the whole state down for another month. Does "Flatten the curve" mean "zero cases"? Birx said today that many presumed cases from mid-March were added to the numbers for April 14-16 - they "hope" to get those corrected but for now we're stuck with their flawed reporting. So how can we abide by "the curve" when they aren't even counting correctly?

OH was one of the first states to take action and we have about 1/3 the cases MI has. Our governor is discussing how to stagger reopening things May 1st. I believe his early action and pretty good compliance on the part of Ohio residents is allowing OH to try reopening businesses. I'm really hoping we can all move forward safely.

Our numbers, currently, are climbing. We are not close to opening up, at least I hope the "powers" are smart enough to keep us shut down. We are losing a lot of nursing home residents to the virus. One home has over 70 cases. One in Va has 81 residents positive, 20 workers positive.

I think there are spots in the country that NEED to stay shut down. But the subways are still running in NYC which has to be a big source for viral spread in a large city. That alone could explain the massive difference between New York and California. Although some "experts" will tell you it's because CA began social distancing two days ahead of NY. 240K vs 29K? I don't really think so. There's something else going on there.

It's not surprising nursing homes are hard hit - same thing happens during flu season, but we don't hear a peep about it. Why? Because we have a vaccine. And yet, even with a vaccine we've had 60,000 flu deaths already this year. I wonder if people would be OK with 60,000 dying of COVID-19 once we have a vaccine?

Those at high risk should continue to practice social distancing. Or full on quarantine if they choose. And luckily, many who fall in that high risk category (my husband included) are able to stay home as they are retired, on a pension or SS, etc. If you need to work to get a paycheck you will be having a whole other experience. I hear from students daily who have families in crisis because parents are unable to work. In a family, EVERY worker is essential.

One of our co-workers shared a letter from a grandparent who is in an assisted living facility and unable to leave the room, can't play cards or socialize, no family visits - no contact with any other living souls, unless he has a medical crisis. It was heartbreaking. He concluded the letter with "there is more than one way to die".

They need to start allowing businesses to open and trust people to make good decisions. If people feel they should stay home, stay home. But we cannot force people to sit by and watch their lives go down the toilet. Otherwise we're going to have way bigger problems than a virus to deal with, in my opinion.

Our numbers are going down thankfully. Hope this continues and other states start to improve also.
93 deaths in our county so far. 624 in the whole state of Washington as of April 17th.

Here’s another in the series of “what now?” Buried in a daily Covid update from our village was news that all outdoor burning is banned until June 1. Due to the pandemic. We CAN still use our fire pits unless it becomes a nuisance. And “any compliant by a neighbor constitutes a nuisance”.

Alrighty then.
