I have been using bill pay for about 20 years with no problems. I don't like putting checks in the mail. Bill pay is safer.

For some bills I use a credit card. That way I get 1.5% cash back. I write maybe 1 or 2 checks per year.

I have been using bill pay for close to 10 years. Have never had an issue but I'm OCD- check my accounts every day. Don't like putting checks out in the mail. All utilities, mortgage, memberships are autodraft. Finally got our trash company set up. Haven't written a check for anything except occasional medical bill in months.
Hubby went for testing this morning. He works for MedStar in dispatch and had a nurse that needed repairs on flight helmet. Nurse got sick and has tested positive. 24 hour wait, Yay!

thing is here you need checks .Like when Ibought my shed if I used a credit card he would tack on a 10 dollar fee ,but with a check he said he could give me 10 % discount ,so check it was .Same with water heater and the metal roof from max kendall for my shed and carport .If guy does driveway he does not do credit cards .Some things you just need those checks and since I get them free ,why not .Seems like here a lot of places do not do credit cards because they are small businesses .

We offer cash, checks, cc's most say cc here, or don't care pay how you want to pay.

We use checks in FL when hiring helpers. Track for taxes and they don't do CC's

This is farm country so most places are small mom and pop businesses .I was surprised when Max Kendall metal roofing said they charged a fee for credit card use .I use cash for my gas for my cars as there are to many of those card readers showing up every where .My son went to office max and used his credit card last week and he got an alert the next morning about a 600 dollar charge on it and it was a new card and it was the only place he used it .Thieves are every where and amazing what they can do .

well do not mind being with hubby as I have the outside to work on and he lives to see another year .Keith it says for better or worse in sickness and health and that means retirement also .Here we are way over 8thousand cases and 24 in Danville VA .None here in Axton so far .
Hi Sissy. As I sit home today working on my computer while my wife is downstairs in the kitchen face-timing with one of our children... I had been thinking I could retire in the next few years if I wanted to... but now I know I could never do that! Basically that would make her my boss 24/7 and I could never handle that. If anything I will cut down on some of the jobs I do and go to more business lunches/events and industry meetings and fun things like that, but definitely NOT retire! I'm lucky that I work for myself and have that flexibility. I hope the virus doesn't affect you in Axton, but I would bet there have been some mild cases already. It's hard to really know without widespread testing. I'm really curious if I had it and want to take the antibody test whenever it's available.

Same. I read an article this morning that said that some researchers are starting to believe that past exposure to some other strains of coronavirus may also provide immunity to C-19. We're going to learn lots of interesting things in the coming months.

Problem in my house is that over the years I have become the boss .My hubby used to travel a lot with ford motor company so everything was usually left up to me .I guess he is lucky he married a farm girl that is not afraid of hard work .Just finally driveway sealer guy showed up and 1970 dollars for 4363 sq. ft. driveway ,2 coats of seal master and cracks filled .I had sealmaster done before and was not happy with it but seems that is all you get now .I did the cans myself and it was 28 cans to do it and swore i would never do that again ..Thing is you can be tested like hubby and i but like they said you may get it after your tests are done .15 minute test drive up test and drive away and they e-mail our test results .Life goes on and hope your wife turns out to be a understanding boss .:);)so far 28 cases in Danville as of this morning and 1 death but he was 88 years old .

The virus is creeping out to our more rural area. We are up to 689 cases and climbing.

Today marked my Mom's 14 day qt . She wanted to go to Costco. We took her to the senior hour 8 - 9 am, wore masks, sanitized carts, carried wipes and hand sanitizer. We bought some things for her to take home to MI in case she needs them there, TP, Kleenex etc.

I thought it was a reasonable outing after following all the rules for 14 days and we followed all guidelines for social distancing and PPE. Well, both of my sisters are in strong disagreement with our taking her, saying it was very wrong and not worth the risk! I just said OK, not going to engage...however my mother is not a prisoner in our home and is capable of speaking her mind.

Mind you, neither of my sisters actually want to take care of or help our Mom....ticks me off.

The one time we went to costco they were doing a great job in cleaning. This was before masks! Minimal people, not senior hour lol

They had TP? none here yet lol but we have enough, one case lasts us a long time.

the ones that speak up are the ones who never hear I need help or care enough to check up on someone, they are selfish .I learned that a long time ago when my mom and dad passed away .So do not worry about what others say ,you are there they are not

We moved my 89 yo dad in two weeks after we married. We had to hire a nephew to stay with him if we wanted to leave. None of my family would "waste" a day or a weekend to help him. But they sure had a lot to say about his care, money, stuff etc! His care was better than any nursing home would give him.

I took care of mom and dad before they passed from cancer and it was not easy .They were hubbies mom and dad .I seem to think when I was doing it ,who will help me if I got sick or injured and it is a scary thought .Made me realize that life is shorter than I know .I am not sure I was crying for them or me

My Mom was in FL and one of my sisters lives 2 miles from her. She has MS, but her husband is healthy and active. They offered no help to my Mom as the virus was exploding :( I'm completely relieved she's now with us. I have another sister who lives 5 miles from my Mom at her home in MI. She acts like my Mom lives on another planet, whining whenever she's asked to help.

It makes me really angry, but I'm trying to not focus on them....I'm content, Mom is here and weather is improving daily :) Time to garden and pond!
