When you think you have everything right, turn on the water on the weir, watch how it flows, and go from there. You will tweak several times to get the right effect, like everyone says, but that's what makes it unique to you! I had my waterfall dug, liner on, rocks in place just on the waterfall part, turned on the water and watched the flow. Figured I needed more height here or there, pulled it all out, added dirt or simply used rocks to divert the water so it would flow more in another direction. It's all great fun, actually, knowing that you "created" the waterfall! Sometimes our waterfalls are BETTER than those in nature.
Are you planning to leave all those rocks on the sides, I assume? They look really pretty now, but won't all but what are on the waterfall be underwater? It seems most say that if you have fish, especially koi, the waste and gunk that settles between the rocks may be a nightmare for you later on. OR, are you only putting them on the sides, and leaving the bottom free of rock, hoping most of the waste will settle down there, where you can clean it out? Just saying ... you may be getting into your pond and cleaning between those rocks every year. Guess if that happens, you can decide if you put the rocks back and if it's worth it for the effect you want to see. I loved the look, but I think most will agree that once the rocks are covered with a coating of algae, you won't see the pretty colors any longer, just green and/or black bumps.
Oh, and I love your weir! It looks very good, and solid, and should work well for you.
