To my American friends, talking about gun laws is like when I talk to my koi, I get nothing back worth hearing lol. I'm leaving it at that, I do not have anymore time to debate this. Keep your guns and I'll keep mine.

I was in a bank when some morons decided to rob it. HE shouted get down as one went to the counter for the money. HE pumped the shoutgun to show he was serious and then they were gone. I often day dreamed if I had a concealed handgun I could have shot the creep and ran outside and shoot the car tires of the get away vehicle or them if they resisted. I'd be a hero sitting in jail or dead lol.
That's one thing I love about living here. We can shoot people like that and not go to jail :) like Zimmerman.

There was a local story here about a year ago where a guy who was just released from jail walked into a grocery store, bought a steak knife, walked out into the parking lot and started stabbing people. Luckily there was a guy in the parking lot who had his concealed carry weapon. He pulled his gun, and held the guy at gun point till the cops arrived. He was deemed a hero and well deserved.

Another guy I know personally started dating a girl who had an ex who was stalking her. About 6 months ago he was at her house when someone started pounding on the door. She said it was her ex and she would not let him in. The ex started busting the door in. My friend pulled his concealed carry weapon and stood in the house with the woman directly behind him. When the door broke down and the bad guy entered my friend yelled "stop" when the bad guy did not stop my friend put 3 .45 acp rounds in his chest. BTW, the bad guy was unarmed.

The police interviewed my friend, witnesses and the girl and told my friend he did the right thing.

I just love happy endings.

BTW, my husband and I joke that if anyone ever broke in here it would be a competition between he and I on who shot the bad guy first LOL

We were in bed one night just falling asleep when we heard our back door "beep" as if someone had just opened it. Without saying a word to each we both grabbed our .45's, immediately got out of bed, he went left and I went right, we met at the back door after clearing the house and noted there was no one there. When we both got to the back door we looked at each other and laughed. It was as if the entire thing had been choreographed. LOL

My sister in law used to be anti-gun, until one time she, my brother and their young daughters were down on our remote property. My brother went for a hike when my sister in law heard voices (not common out there) and was very concerned about her and the girls safety. She told me she thought about what she would do to protect herself and her daughters and came up with nothing. After my brother returned she asked him to teach her how to shoot and to get her a gun. Ever since then she has carried a 9 mm on her side.

Life is easier when you know you have the ability to protect yourself.

Good stories and, unfortunately, there are millions of stories like that in America.

Heck, I was in my office, as I am now, and I forgot to lock my door. While I was working on my books, I heard a strong german voice from a stranger yelling in my house, "anybody here?". It freak me the hell out. I grabbed my bat in my office here, since my gun was locked up in my laundry room, and was ready for combat. When being 5~10 miles away from town and nearset neighbor being just as far, then there is an uninvited stranger yelling with a thick german accent into my house. Boy howdy son, I was ready to rumble.

Not that she is saying Zimmerman was acting like a bank robber in this court case. ;)

Honestly, I am suprised this thread has not gotten all out of hand like having the vulgar comments found on youtube and facebook and twitter. I guess I am secretly waiting for it to happen so to prove me right about my pessimism of people in general. :chair:

I tell ya what. My most clearest thinking and fastest maneuvering were when events injected me with adrenaline. :fechten2:

Are adrenaline rushes good for you? Cuz I have been having a lot of them lately every time I think about the troublesome kid and his father here in our hood and now another court date coming up soon as papa doesn't like being added to the restraining order..................oh boy there goes another shot of adrenaline zooming through my body

As revealed by a whistleblower in the prosecutions team, that got fired for revealing the documents, now there is potential talk of disbarring the lady head hancho prosecutor for falsifying affidavit documents and manipulating initial defense evidence to the judge so that criminal charges could be filed to allow the cops to arrest Zim for manslaughter and this manipulation allowing the judge reason for the prosecution to bypass the grand jury. Now, we understand why the Police Chief got fired.

I bet heads are going to roll, that is assuming there is any political pressure to pursue this, which I doubt there will be any such pressure.

The drama will never end.

I live in a very good neighborhood, on a very good side of town. Heck, I leave my keys in the car. But I don't walk around with rose colored glasses on, the time will come, when we will be defending ourselves, weather it be against Thugs or our own government. My husband works thirds, and I keep a gun next to my bed, you better believe it. And with 5 kids living at home still, I would not hesitate to shoot someone if they broke in my house.

You're such a silly billy Fishylove. :blueflower:

This is just crazy. Driving me crazy. Disbarrment and sanction charges against the special prosecutor is pending for ethics violations. Keep in mind folks this special prosecutor was chosen to replace the sitting district attorney as well; folks, this is what is called prosecution shopping. Politics in the justice system. I guess my pessimism of people is proving to be true though the abuse of the justice system by the special prosecutor head hancho due to manipulating evidence and documents to arrest Zim for manslaughter and for initially trying to make this into a race case. Grrr... :banghead3:

And now... As being pushed by the NAACP, the Civil Rights division in the judicial branch, Department of Justice by Holder, and I am paraphrasing, "we are going to do everything in our power to see if we can apply these new criminal civil rights" since they believe the police are full of racists, irregardless of the FBI (federal bureau of investigations) stating in their in-depth investigation that there were zero civil right violations in regards to racial profiling. Hmmm, I wonder if describing someone as "punk" is going to be the new racial profiling statute.

That Police Chief should not have lost his job... I need a beer... :0000000057:

I agree completely Charles. It is a clear case of a witch hunt and what makes it worse is the highest office in this great nation is fanning the flames. They are talking about civil rights charges and opinions are there is absolutely nothing that indicated Zimmerman violated civil rights laws. In fact those laws are made to prosecute large organizations like local governments for violating local civil rights.

With that said I think everyone involved all the way up the chain of command should be tried for violated Zimmermans civil rights. He and his family are the victims here. They will fear for their lives from here on out and be forced to hide and probably change their names. All because the media and our racist government wanted to make an example of a "white" guy.

Cracking the beer now :(

God the gall of that Martin family, got over a $1 mil settlement and they want to put an innocent guy in jail as icing on the cake!!!!

My sympathy factor for them is at a .5 now. And they want more?

Charles, would they pay taxes on a settlement case? Counted as income?
