lol ce, my frogs are chasing each other, pond 54 degrees, the fish are chasing each other, think breeding season is here. I watch the frogs on the cameras night vision, constantly swimming around then doing contact, then back to swimming, a whole bunch of them.

I had to chase them out from under the liner so they would not get crushed.
Funny you say that. I had part of my stream liner folded back, and when I went to move it today I found it hiding under it. It finally gave me a chance for a nice photo, too!

Soon it will be warm enough for you JB and the breeding season will be upon you.

The breeding season is here! At least for Chorus frogs. Not in my pond, but I've been hearing them in nearby bodies of water for about a week. You can hear them in this video I took yesterday at a nearby bike path/prairie.

My new buddy was sitting out all day today watching me work on his new home. Its amazing to me how quickly frogs learn to trust humans. Working just a couple feet away, digging, throwing dirt... none of it bothered him/her.
Same thing last year. They're nervous for about a week or two and then realize you aren't there to harm them.

My goldies were chasing today and I could not believe it. Water temp is only about 50 but they have been eating for about a week. And spotted a bullfrog yesterday I took a pic but son took computer to load new antivirus (my internet was giving him issues) so can't download it til next weekend. Love your frog pics JB and Woohoo JW. Addy sounds like your pond is in happy mode. :)

Spring is here and my pond is slowly coming back to life. I saw this green fellow in the pond again this Spring and wanted to find out if he's a bullfrog. These pics are from last summer, but forgot to ask then. Are you guys able to help? I have new pics from this weekend, but the pictures on on my camera and I'm at work pondering about my pond :) I can upload those when I get home tonight.

Now that the toads are done, the green frogs are having fun in the ponds. Hanging on one of the tubers I was grooming.

Still no toad or frog come to my pond yet :( and it'll be cold today again. I'm hoping the frogs find the warm place to stay alive and come to my house later :)

here is a question for you frog gurus! I notice that at night, my frogs all get out of the pond and sit on the rocks around the edge. I assume they are drying off before hopping off into the yard? Are they going hunting for bugs? What are they doing?
