Yep, it's great. Koi were all bunched up this afternoon, in one spot on the bottom, so I went in to get my camera. But, can't get anything even close to a clear pic of them down that far. Then, the got excited and swam around, stirring up the bottom, and then it was not so crystal clear for a little while again. Silly fish! Goldfish almost never go to the bottom, so I think that's why that pond is always so clear. If the frogs jump in and swim, I can watch exactly where they go. Bet they don't care for that! Fish are all doing very well, have not lost any this year. Not sure if they sprayed and I didn't lose any, or if they never needed to spray the beans around me this year. Anyhow, no deaths, so I'm happy!

Good to hear all is well this year. It is always frustrating too lose fish and not understand exactly what went wrong. Koi are sure bad at stirring up the bottom of pond, so I am glad my pond is only 3 feet deep sometimes, cause can scoop out stuff easy in the spring. Right now I got my leaf nets over the ponds cause all the leaves are golden and falling harder everyday.

We get possums around here occasionally CE. That little baby is ugly and cute at the same time. Probably more around. I would of saved him too. I'm to much of a softy when it comes to critters, especially babes. Have not seen any this year. We have 2 old maple trees on our property that always have litter of babies in. Watch them come down out of the trees around dusk and follow mama to the creek. So far have not had any issues with them at the pond that I'm aware of. :) We also have a fox that we have seen regularly late at night. I think he may drink from the pond. Our dog is old and sleeps in the garage at night so not much of a watch dog to keep the critters away.

I think I caught most of them, except there is still one that I seen this morning, darting behind wood stove. It is funny how fast they move, you see them out of the "corner of eye" and then wonder if it was your imagination cause they move like lighting. This town has mice everywhere, my friend has them, and work has them again too, they all move in fast when temperture starts drops outside.

I know I have a mouse in my kitchen, need to get some glue traps and set them in the drawer I put the foil and rolls of stuff like that in. That's the only place I see traces of them, but no chewing on boxes or anything. Pretty sure they live under the dishwasher, as my cat forever lays in front of the fridge, facing the dishwasher, in the evenings. Need to remove the bottom panel and only screw it on lightly, so I can check traps often. I hate snap traps, they scare me, always afraid of them snapping my finger. Colleen, could you please come and set my traps for me for about a week? That should do it! LOL I have the traps, just hate to set them.

Ooooo ... I like that idea, but then I would have to go searching for a snapper. I've not seen one for quite a while, and would like to keep it that way. :) Actually, I should remove the bottom panel from the dishwasher and let the cat get in there, but I'm afraid she would get stuck. LOL

Look who arrived at my house yesterday, a week ahead of schedule! Well, 2 days earlier than her litter last year, which was 5 days earlier than average. Anyhow, she had 4 puppies, but one died about hour after birth. He was born at the vet's office (she had quit contractions, so had to go get a shot of oxytocin to get her going again ...), and the vet worked with him, though he was ok, but I could tell he was gasping for air from the get go. Anyhow, she ended up with 2 boys and a girl, just like last year's litter! They all appear to be black brindles this time, no fawn brindles like Denali, but they are healthy and fat and will get more than enough food as they grow. I really think Denali could easily nurse 7-8 puppies, but her body does not want that many evidently. ;-)
This is the first puppy, born at my house.

The puppy that died was #2, born at the vet's office, so this pic is #1 (boy) and #3 (girl). She was actually born in my car on the way home from the vet!
#1 and #3, who is a girl.JPG

All three puppies. The boys are the outer two facing down, and the female is in between them, facing the opposite way.
