Yep, I realize that, JW. I mention it because it looks different at this point. Usually by the time I spot them, they are bigger, and this time I've spotted 3 that are under 2", which is unusual. I guess I've found babies before when I looked closely by the lilies, too. And, more often then not, the goldfish/shubunkin babies are more orange/red than white, so this one being more white is fun. I till have one that is orange with black tail and top fin. I know it will eventually change to all orange, but it has stayed this coloring for 2 months. Next year it will likely finish changing.
Wishing I could spot the solid black fantail again. That's the one that I'm finding out is very unusual. I would never buy a moor, don't like the buggy out eyes, and remember buying this one and it was a bronze color, so I wondered what color it would change to. Several days later, I was in the pond grooming lilies, and spotted a solid black fantail. It has to be the little bronze one. I've not seen it since, but am confident it's in there somewhere hiding, as the other little fantails tend to do. Still see the tiny orange and white one, though, and the bigger ones come out at feeding time.
Oh, and I guess I waited too long to locate my albino pleco to move back inside. The water temps got down to below 55 last weekend, and I found him Monday dad on the bottom. Darn! It had doubled in size from when I put it in there earlier this past spring, but still was only 4" long. Must have been a more dwarf variety. Oh well, live and learn. No more plecos going into the ponds. Thinking I'll get an albino catfish from Sheetmetalman who lives just west of me. I've wanted to go see his pond and patios in person anyhow! At least the albino cat will be hardy, and white, so easy to see on the bottom.
