I have fancy tails and butterfly so think some of the babies I have given away are a combo of them .The ones i have this year all so far look like aggie but 2 look to short and fat to be goldfish so will have to wait and see .I have tried to get pics but they only come around when all the fish come over to where i am at and guessing they are wondering what is going on and still not sure how many babies i have .

Sissy, when I notice the fish are relaxing, that's when I go and stand with the camera. After feeding them the larger fish tend to just stay back, and the babies are more active, coming to the top more likely. But, always hard to get baby pics, the larger fish like to pose too well.

My parrots feather is continuing to be green and growing in the goldfish pond and stream. Do others still have this type of growth in their ponds, well other than our southern friends? Guess the water temp allows it to continue to grow. Hoping this means the parrots feather will be healthy and grow well in the spring. :)

Here's the pump ready to plug in and keep the water open from ice when the time comes.

Yours is growing really great CE. Mine is not doing so good right now. Think it is thinking of going to sleep for the winter. I think it likes calm water and I had my big AP air pump going this summer like a volcano where it liked to grow before and think it didn't like it there w/ all that eruption going on. I'll have to make sure next Spring/Summer when I turn it back on that the Parrots Feather is in calmer waters so it can grow better. Plus I need to tame down or spread out the air to different air stones if I can ever make up my mind which one to buy.

Ours are starting to go:-( Tried to take some pics but cloudy out and starting to get dark... gonna post them anyways (and excuse the mess, still needs to be raked out)... I also included pics of the parrots feather and creeping primrose in the basement in the 600... I would say they are happy... the water hyacinths on the other hand are not...

I took all my floaters out and they went to the basement ,well at least some of them did .I figured it was warm and nice out so time to get it done before I get caught back up with dr.s visits and hubby 's eye surgeries .All the tender plants in the basement and all the elephant ears and cannas mulched in .

yeh i had a problem with spider mites also and had to spray and soak them all in dish detergent and it took several times and only happened to the ones in the stock tank and not the ones in the pond .Had white flies also and not sure i have ever seen them here before so must have brought them in on a plant in my landscape.

I dont know where the mites came from:-( Didnt see any signs of them outside, but sure as heck had a bunch when we brought the plants in... hoping a few of the water hyacinths will bounce back... if not, will let the parrots feather go to town...

I just squirted in a bunch of dish detergent and since the tadpoles did not mind the spider mites died I guess and tadpoles grew legs and left .Guessing the toad may have gotten some of the tadpoles .I sprayed all my plants good before i bring them in and soak them .Not sure where these came from but knew I had to treat all the plants and dirt before I brought them in .safest way is dish detergent .
