OK all you spider lovers! This guy was strutting across my living room floor last night! Got the pic AFTER the "EEK" and before the smoosh. I'm really sorry to have killed it ... NOT ... but when they come into my house, they are not allowed to live. This is the third one that has come out to spy on my in the last week. I always spray inside my house spring and fall, guess I should have sprayed already this fall! One of the other ones came out within a foot of me while I was "in the bathroom"! Had some decision making to do in that issue. LOL This guy was over 2", and they are NOT cute. Yuck yuck yuck...

On a lighter note, thought you might enjoy seeing this video I took yesterday. Got to Wolf Creek campground at Lake Shelbyville in Illinois, and there was a group of Amish people from Arcola, IL there having a "fun day". Wow, they sure know how to have fun!
All I can say is when I was a kid, I went outside to play and have fun. I caught bugs, butterflies, snakes, turtles, frogs. Played in the creeks, rode my bike, walked to friends' houses and the movies. Maybe the Amish are behind in some areas. However, they said it was fine for me to take the video (and lots of pics!) just as long as the people were not "posing" for the shot. And, the one lady has FB, so I was able to share them all with her. Amazing how many others have "liked" the pics and videos. Seems they have moved up to internet services. It was a totally refreshing afternoon after our 3 hour horseback ride. Here are a few other photos from the day. The mule is my new mule, Clyde, getting acquainted with the soccer ball. And the boys standing on the pony are Amish. What good clean fun!!! The pile of rock the young boy is on top of was about 5', dumped from a truck, so steep sides, but that didn't stop him from getting on top and being "King of the Mountain".

And my daughter inspired me to take this picture. She is always taking pictures of the view in her rear view mirror as she drives or is parked in her mountains in UT. :)

Poor spidey CE! Overcome your fear and become one w/ the spiders, lol! Look in the mirror and then look at one of them..............think how they must feel when they see you coming  I usually just grab a glass and scoot them in w/ a piece of cardboard or whatever and then toss outside. We need the spidey's to kill and eat the bad bugs outside. Oh well at least you are getting better w/ the outside ones and you seem to enjoy taking photos of them. You are making progress,

I love your video of the boys and horses playing soccer. So neat to see how people in different cultures enjoy having fun and life. What a cute idea.............rear view mirror photos! She's started a whole new photo specialty area!
Clyde is cool!

When I saw the spider last night, JW, I actually though, "can I get a container and catch it?" ... I grabbed camera which was next to me in my recliner. Took the pic, and then he started running, heading for behind the aquarium. So, nope, not catching him this time. And, usually they are near something to hide under or behind, and there is no way to capture them. Either you let them stay, or your smoosh them. I know it's mean, but I used to kill any spider, so you're right, I'm better about them at least outside. These big boys really make me feel yucky inside. The garden spider, I loved that baby! So, I don't hate all spiders, just certain ones, and now ONLY the certain ones inside my house.

Ha Ha CE don't you know that there is a new law on the books coming out that if the spider is running away from you then you can't kill it. Only can kill it if it's running at you.................kinda like the gun law w/ burglars

Well, if that's the case, then I will just have to run in front of the sucker before I smoosh it. LOL Believe me, I've tried really hard to obey the ponder rules.

Finally got a fairly clear pic of the baby goldfish that still has black dorsal fin and a black tail. He's been like this for over a month, but the black has remained. I'm pretty sure it was black to begin with. The rest of the black will change probably by next summer, but I think he's pretty cute the way he is now.

And, one of the Georgia Peach lilies is still blooming beautifully!

Yeah CE I wish those little ones w/ the black on them would stay that way forever. Why can't somebody figure out how to breed that into a goldfish? That's a beaut of a Peach lily! I have 3 big nice buds out there on mine and they just will not open due to the cold wet weather now

The attorney I work for has a spider phobia. All spiders need to be dead. She told of a story when her son was an infant in a crib, large spider in the room, she panicked, didn't want to take her eyes off of it, afraid it would hide and she would not know where it was, scared to step on it (she thinks they will jump up her leg) so found a fly swatter and killed it. The whole time she was screaming, the poor baby was crying hysterically. I bet that was a scene to see! She was alone, though. LOL
When there is a spider in the office, they are often the tiny ones, the ones that when you go to get it, it jumps off the wall and you have no idea where! But, she will not be quiet until I kill it, and squeals if the spider jumps. It's hilarious. I'm not that afraid of them, but I just don't want to think they may be in my bed at night. And, I think spiders in a house means it's dirty, just always felt that way, even though that's not really the case.

Lol I caught two wolf spiders in the basement yesterday, tossed them outside. They some how come in every winter. One was crawling up the stairs, huge, almost stepped on it while doing laundry. (raining so I had to do some house work rather than play outside)

Cleaned out the dwarf cattails out of the bog today. I realize how they had multiplied this year! I separated what was in the koi pond bog, and planted maybe 12 plants along the back side of the bog. Those multiplied in place, and spread to other areas. In the spring, I'm going to be begging to give lots of them away! So, if anyone is interested in dwarf cattails, PM me and I'll keep a list. LOL I probably had more like 30 or more plants, so in the spring there will be even more!

And, this Shubunkin is one that I got from Pond Kid back in March. Pretty sure it's a male, never got a round belly this year, and hoping it does some fertilization of eggs next spring.

Nice shubbie! Even the bog plants, not stated to be invasive, grow like weeds. Glad yours are doing fine for you.
