Not today, but yesterday. We got to 60F 65F real feel.
So decided to fix my loop ponds. Edges, over time, have become fragile. Fought a lot of tiny leaks all last summer, when all I could do is add water, attempt to fix with one arm...............didn't work.
The first loop pond has one side built up to make a level spot. A weak easy to leak area. The deer , ground hogs, etc always were knocking rocks, stepping on it , causing small leaks. So I put in metal stakes, some wood planks, locust wood, pulled up extra liner, made the edge higher, then started stacking rocks. Pulled some rocks out of the water, darn cold, then decided the rest could wait for spring.
Next loop pond ,the last one, over time again walked on, edges squished down, etc. Dug , pulled every rock, pulled up the extra liner, dug a bigger shelf, started re-stacking rocks. All the time thinking what happened to all the rocks I had. Well took a stick start feeling in the water. Felt rocks. Went and put on some long water proof gloves, but not warm gloves. Started pulling out rocks around 20ish and more in the water to deep to get without water getting into the gloves. So a later job.
Now, 5 hours later, have a nice stack of rocks, a undone edge, higher liner, and rocks to work with. Again a later job, the cold is returning. dropping to 12 at night 25 day in a day or so.
The cardinals love the water to sip.
