My thoughts are with our Florida members who are prepping for Hurricane Ian, and am sending good vibes your way.
Thank you. I've thinned and trimmed down the taller bog plants. I'm debating whether to turn off the pump. I've got a small solar aerator, as I expect to lose power for several days or likely longer.
(I'd probably be somewhere else if I didn't have a family member who can't travel. For you US weather geeks, Jim Cantore of The Weather Channel who is the meteorologist they send to the epicenter of weather disasters, is about a mile away from me, on Clearwater Beach.)

It was time to get ready for winter.

Drained & moved my 7 bought koi into the big pond.
Then caught some of the nicer looking fry & moved them, too.
The 33 dark, boring fry were put back in the 650gal pond. Then caught 42 more boring fry from the big pond & put them in the little pond.

@secuono It's amazing how many fry survive and they're not that easy to catch !
They spawned 7+ times in the new pond. I was like, "plz stop, omg..."

The fry are actually easy to scoop up. Once they're larger, they're more wary and faster. But for now, as they swarm to peck at the floating food, I creep the net under them and quickly sweep it up and to the side.

I finished building a new, larger race track shelf for my diecasts. I built one last year but it didn't fit enough cars on it. This one can fit more than three times as many.

And I also got a new diecast today for it. 1952 Hudson Hornet. This car was one of NASCAR's first-generation stock cars. I couldn't find any official paint scheme Hornets that I liked, so I grabbed a generic hot wheels one instead, but it doesn't look bad at all. I may end up painting the red on the wheels all black. Eventually, I want all 7 generations of NASCAR Cup cars (I have 4 at the moment), as well as every popular motorsport car (Sprint car, dirt Late Model, any IMSA sports car, F1 car, rally car, etc.)

Spent the day putting up a heavy duty tarp on the binimi top. Slightly tented to allow snow. If any, slide off.

We had a 1 to 2 mph wind day, beautiful day. Need the low wind to get it up there and tied down. 150 feet of rope! Had to use the boat hook and ropes to get over the top above my reach!

Could pay 1000 to get it wrapped, but this works for $49.00 and some work.

1000 dollars sucks to have it wrapped but it is a cheap bill compared to medical boo boos.
I know I'm the last who should talk building stone walls. And navigating around my pond sure beats the need for one of bob barkers balancing toys he sells on TV.

Lol I had both feet firmly on the boat the entire time. Not even climbing on and off. The top deck (driving area) is up high, canvas higher. But once the tarp was over the top partly anchored, all roping done from in the sky deck or walkway.

I was safe, and very cautious.
