I hope sweet Lil Bear will be right as rain come morning.
He is back to normal, making me chase him. We went out on the deck, I was checking for bee flights, he heard a bee buzzing ran right back into the house. He has learned the sound to stay away from.

It filters beautifully, has great flowers, but grows and grows. Well all the bog and pond plants grow great. I do pull it now and then, pull all plants usually around July I have to stay on top of the growth. Love the plant but needs to be controlled.

Poor little Bear, glad he is well and now knows to run when he here's the buzz!
I was pleased to see how he reacted, it is the best reaction. We keep the doggy door to the deck closed when working the bees.

Missy learned at a young age to stay away from anything that buzzed. She got stung twice, each time horribly ill.

We had a old apple tree that dropped apples on our driveway, the yellow jackets would be all over them. She stayed far away from them, if we did not carry her past. That tree came down during a storm, no more yellow jackets!

No more yellow jackets is a good thing for sure! I am wondering why we haven't seen hardly any in the last couple years? I'll just be glad they have moved on.

Running late today for my bike ride. Need to get busy and get out the door before the heat hits!
I'm gonna mess w/the pond edge today to try and get my water level up to the highest point I can go. Rocks sink the liner down low over time. I am getting there tho.

Have a ton of blueberries rotting on the ground and the yellow jackets are everywhere. I put traps out with apple juice but they are more interested in the hummingbird feeders and the blueberries. May have to put some blueberries in the traps.

There ya go; YOU eat the apple (juice) and the wasps will eat the blueberries! ;)

We are feeding the bees, usually the yellow jackets are everywhere. Have not seen any this year, so far.

I am sure they will show up!

Been awhile since I've played Forza Horizon 4, so I decided to do that for about a half hour tonight. Always fun driving the rally cars around.

Was talking to the neighbour on Saturday, and commented that we hadn't seen any Yellowjacket nests in several years. Sunday I was moving some spare rocks, when something hit me in the right temple. The pain was instant, and felt like a blowtorch was being held to the spot. LOML got two Benadryl into me, but the right side of my face is horribly swollen, and I can barely open that eye. Wife found the Yellowjacket nest, right where I was tossing the rocks. Went out after dark and foamed it, but they're still active today. It usually takes 5 to 6 treatments to wipe them out. The skunks won't help with this nest... it's in an old, hollow railroad tie.

The last hit I got was my very tender boobbbie It took 3 months before the red, swelling and irritation went away. The pain is intense!

I really watch for them, if I see some more than once in a certain spot I start looking for the nest. Watch the flight path. I had a huge nest under our sun room . Sprayed a bunch of wasp spray in, they just would not leave/die so got out the caulk a piece of wood and blocked them in the nest. Done!

I watched Indycar's first Nashville street course race tonight. There was a weird crash during caution where a car ran into the back of another car and went airborne. Believe it or not, the car in the air not only was able to finish the race, but won the race!

Daughter in law just got hit by a deer on her way home from work. It left a small chunk of venison in the door, lots of hair, no blood, and the car had to be towed.
