Canned 30 pounds of tomatoes into salsa, roasted and froze poblano peppers, roasted cherry tomatoes for sauce and picked more blueberries! We are finally getting much needed rain with a little hail mixed in.

Found a nice free table w/drawers when outside riding bike, who doesn't need more drawers? Got home and got in car and brought home table. Hubby found me trying to get it inside. It is heavy. I do these things on my own as he complains about how we will never be able to move as I bring home too much stuff. We go back and forth on this subject and I mention if he wants to complain to do it elsewhere and I will do this all by myself otherwise be quiet and just help me,lol!

I’ve killed another phone! Back to using the one with a shattered screen, at least till next week when I can get the screen replaced. The one I was using apparently had a major failure, it ran out of battery because I was listening to an audiobook at work, but then wouldn’t take a charge. Took it to my phone guy, he tried replacing the battery ( he’d just put a new one in 3-4 months ago) tried replacing the screen, nothing. So strongly suspect it was some chip on its board that burned out. Said it was too expensive to try fixing, so looks like I’ll be taking the big phone back. I prefer smaller phones, easier to fit in a pocket.
On a side note, I dug a small pond for our ducks and geese. Oh am I sore! Next step is to fill the small shallow with rock for the bog, get a small pump and filter for it, then go find a ton of aquatic plants to fill the bog.

I was stupid. I did too much digging and now I’m still sore which made today at work rough. The pump I had for that is shot so my sister gave us one, which at least turns on but doesn’t move water, so looks like I’ll be going for a cheap one from Lowe’s on Friday. And naturally, we are getting heavy rains now. Sigh, two days after I filled their pond but haven’t got it edged yet.

Watering, throwing mulch, riding the bike and sweating! We have gone almost 40 days w/o any rain. Will we break our record which was around 50+ days? Also having above average hotter temps.
Send some of that rain our way @JamieB

I think WE'RE going for 40 straight days of rain, j.w; Been out of power now twice in two weeks...it's getting old. GLAD I don't live in the NW, I'm sick of rain.

Seriously @j.w , how are you handling normal days with such abnormal weather for yourself? I can see what too much rain in a row when you're not used to it, but all that sunshine and (gasp) dryness? Must be culture shock, yes? I know, in all my years working outside, this is the screwy-ist summer I've ever had. Dry in May (normally pretty wet, regularly), hot in June (not typically and we had a lot of rain from the second week on), and now July, usually the second hottest and dryest after August for us. I can't imagine what this year's August has in store...maybe sub 70s with a threat of frost????

We have lots of fans, no AC and it is pretty steady now in the 80's each day. Getting really used to it actually. I love the sunshine just hate having to water all the plants and trees quite often. We have sandy soil too so the water just runs right through. I have tons of mulch tho so that helps. I know one of these days it will start to rain and keep on raining all through the Fall, Winter and Spring! I dread that!

Seeing some planes fly over. EAA Airventure is going on this week, so every once in a while I see something flying over from the event.

There were four P-51s in formation, but I only captured three. They were way up and toward the sun so it was hard to find them.
